Let us end the year with a little inspiration. Have a great New Year and the blog will be bursting with life into 2012...here is an email I got the other day.
Mark I've been walking my dog... In the rain on Rodborough Common and came across this bush and thought you might like to see it. It's decorated with photos of cats and dogs and has a box for donations of food, etc for Teckles Rescue Centre. Laurence (Devil)

This is my Leeds United bauble appearing with The Cirencester Town Band.
My loving sister provided me with this present and I have proudly paraded it around the county. However this tale of Christmas joy has a tragic end. The bauble's final resting place is in my studio after Lunchtime host Anna King callously smashed it into smithereens.
I'm in pieces...as is my limited edition, vintage Leeds United keepsake.
If you have any examples of decoration excess...the tackier the better I would love to see them...Cummings@bbc.co.uk
Ps...I think the death of my prized possession might have been a genuine accident but I'm still milking the guilt from my well respected colleague for as long as I can.

I hope you enjoy this annual Christmas gift...my Gloucestershire version of the classic "Twas the night before Christmas" ...please take a couple of minutes to listen...light a candle...gather around the computer and share the magic of the best day of the year!

Next week on the show we will be visiting all the streets in the county that have suffered with road works this year.
We will kick off at Stonehouse. A recent ceremony dedicated ten newly-planted trees as part of a traffic calming scheme in the high street. Six and a half thousand pounds was raised to buy and plant them.
Look out for us in Stonehouse, Cirencester, Gloucester and Cheltenham next week.

Every week we go to a Gloucestershire school for a "show and tell" session.
I had a great time at in Stonehouse meeting the pupils, teachers and Steve the gardener!
Each morning this week you can hear their entertaining thoughts on the Leveson phone hacking inquiry...what their career dreams are...the school's relationship with Stonehouse and Stroud...how the school has changed over the years...how hard it is for the teenagers to get out of bed...and the special dancing skills of the man who cuts the lawn!
Tune in and enjoy...and of course if you are a former pupil I would love to hear your memories of school days and any classic old photos...cummings@bbc.co.uk
Hi, I'm Mark Cummings. Every day I explore all things Gloucestershire on my breakfast show. The stories, the people, the history, the news - the complete package of what makes the county tick. On the show, and on this blog, we share our knowledge, stories and experiences to celebrate life in Gloucestershire.
