Lame-o Xmas Slogan Watch
The Monitor never ceases in its mission to chart the highs and lows of popular culture.
So naturally the eye is drawn to the current trend for retailers to come up with lame-o Xmas slogans. Hence a new feature: Lame-o Xmas Slogan Watch.
Here are some the Monitor has spotted. You are free, though not obliged, to add any more you see, in the usual fashion (by using the "comments" button immediately below)
Dreaming of a tiramisu Christmas - Costa Coffee

This is not just Christmas food, this is M&S Christmas food..... oh please!!
"Thank Virgin it's Christmas", is actually quite clever if you think about it. They did commit my most hated faux pas on an advert revcently though, advertising something as "the ultimate christmas gift". Fine, I'll buy one each for all my family and friends, and then they'll never get another Christmas present again.
JC Penney (few years back but memorable) It ain't over 'til the fat man shops
Have a priceless Christmas with MasterCard - MasterCard
Snowone does more deals - Wine Warehouse in Guernsey
Season's Eatings - Helmsmann's Mayonnaise (it's not only for the slogan, but for the fact the company seems to have used the same phrase and TV advert every Christmas for the past decade)
Pizza on Earth - ASK
The Trafford Centre in Manchester has gone bonkers with things like "'Tis the Season to Leave Brolly" amongst many many others.
Merry Clinique (self explanatory)
Merry Kissmas - Pizza Express
My favorite has always been something I saw in Dumas, Texas (a small town in the Texas panhandle):
"It's Christmas time in the city...and in Dumas, too!"
Where every Santa shops (Borders)
Christmas, designed by Debenhams.
I work for a large high street bank and we have just received chocolate coins in our office bearing the slogan "Abbey Christmas"...
