Swinging cats
- 2 May 07, 03:26 PM
As someone once said - and that someone is standing in this election - "I haven't had time to swing a cat" (think about it) so sorry for the silence and slow approval of your comments.
Tomorrow night there will be help at hand to keep things going.
There'lll also be a constituency results service via text messages to your mobile. If you want to be 'among the first' to know the results - handy word that, among - and ring your friends in the middle of the night with the news that Wrexham's gone this way and Clwyd West has gone that - then sign up for the service by going to this address, click on the box saying "results by text" and that'll explain how you can register.
A late contender for best joke of the campaign comes from the Lib Dems, though I'm told it's been around in different guises for a while.
"Responding to Plaid Cymru's claim that there will be a 'late surge' for them, Jenny Willott MP, campaign chair for the Welsh Liberal Democrats said: "We've more chance of seeing the late Serge Gainsbourg in this campaign, than a late surge to Plaid. "
Boom boom.
I saw the Electoral Commissioner this morning and it looks as though the tougher registration system hasn't put people of sending in postal votes. The number hasn't dipped, which is what they might have expected.
Oh and I hear Sky News have been trying to poach the Shadow Welsh Secretary from us. They've been schmoozing the Welsh Tories and trying to talk them into letting Cheryl Gillan appear on their broadcasts tomorrow night, rather than a "local results programme". That's us by the way.
Perhaps we'll let her send them a few texts ...

Betsan - Are there any plans to continue this blog after the election?
What about you becoming our Nick Robinson in Wales?
Why not.
The "Complaints choir" was the most bias and unintelligent thing I seen. It is good to see that the 91热爆 is spending licence payers money wisely, makine the 91热爆 News service more dumbed down and more like ITV.
I liked it - well done on bringing something different and fun to cover the election. Hoping for a good turnout tomorrow and great 91热爆 coverage as usual.
"Do one-legged ducks swim in circles"? "Swinging cats" sounds like another Rhodriism! Enjoyed the Complaints Choir on 91热爆 Wales news and didn't consider it as dumbing down. Anyone who proposes making St David's Day a bank holiday gets my vote. Pity Betsan's not standing in my constituency, I'd campaign for her!
The singing on Wales Today
was mediocre, but the lyrics were impressive.
Jamie was enjoying himself. Good for him. He started in Colwyn Bay, some time ago (April I'm told).
A cloudless sky for Jamie for two weeks, not that Derek had anything to do with it!!
But I'm told that Jamie is learning Welsh (language) at quite a pace, thanks to the Barry maestro.
Why not? I'm so happy to see you all doing a wonderful job for our planet.
Magnifique!. With all the current activity, no wonder Derek looks short on his beauty sleep.
Da iawn Betsan.
Thanks to you all.

Query? - a friend of mine got turned away from the polling station (Cardiff Central)with an election card because there was a G marked by his name on the list they had at the polling station meaning he is a EU citizen living inthe UK. However the electoral commission website says that the welsh assembly elections are considered local and EU citizens are allowed to vote in Assembly elections. The polling station was also turning away other EU citizens with ballot card. Who was right?
Why did the ballot papers have a number on the back which in theory could be traced back to the voter? This is surely contrary to the policy of an election in a democratic society.
