The show's daily routine in 500 words or more
Hello there.
Every day at the end of the show the entire cast list of The Chris Moyles Show gather in the studio to collectively decide on a few show related things. Dave (in addition to his Head of Comedy role) is in charge of the 鈥榙iary鈥. This is a 91热爆 planner which Dave writes into, noting everything that happens on the show. Typically it鈥檚 very detailed on the things he finds funny e.g. Aled or Chelsea bashing, and sketchy on the things he finds less funny e.g. Dave or Everton bashing. Crucially the other time the 鈥榙iary鈥 entry becomes a bit scarce is when he鈥檚 really enjoying the show which unfortunately for us is the bit we really need because most importantly we use the diary to decide on two key things, what goes into the trail, and what makes it into the podcast.
That is why you鈥檒l often hear one of the Chris Moyles team note 鈥渢here鈥檚 your trail right there鈥 during a bit of the show they find funny, which often involves them being quite funny, more often than not it鈥檚 from Dom.
After the team have come to the decision (and by team I actually mean Chris urged by Dave, or if they aren鈥檛 sure, Dom and if he鈥檚 not sure, the show producer of the morning just to relieve the stalemate). The representative of the trail making dept at Radio 1 then goes off to make the 60 sec trail ready to be first played on Jo鈥檚 show at 11:15. We then go to our representatives from the Radio 1 website and press department to see if they have anything to bring to the meeting.
This is then followed by the Show Producer (me this week, Rachel normally) then telling everyone what鈥檚 coming up on the show tomorrow. We lastly decide on who鈥檚 making the blog for that day which brings me to why I鈥檓 telling you all this in such boring detail. I forgot to bring up in the meeting on my first day as Show Producer the question of who鈥檚 writing the blog for that day 鈥 which therefore meant no-one was assigned to write it which therefore meant it wasn鈥檛 done. As punishment for this I have to write todays!
When I complained that I鈥檇 only just done it on Thursday (I actually love writing these blogs it鈥檚 just that I don鈥檛 want to write too many for fear it looking like I want ALL the blogging attention 鈥 and it is the whole team鈥檚 blog afterall!) Chris imposed a 300 word minimum limit on what I wrote as punishment for my whining.
A whine or two later and it was upped to 400 words!!!! And THEN up to 500 words when little Jocelin (the cheeky wench) in her temporary role as Day Producer upped it again!
But the good news is, from my rambling I鈥檝e now reached 500 words. In fact, I鈥檝e reached 521! There, you can have the extra few words for free. Come back later to find out who blogs today!

p.s. Rachel鈥檚 back today 鈥 I鈥檓 betting it鈥檒l be her!

Aled, as somebody else wrote in their comment, you truly are The King of Blogs!! I'm a subscriber to AHJ and if anybody has any doubts about how detailed and informative you are (in pretty much EVERYTHING!)then they should sign up too! It's brilliant to read all the stuff that goes on behind the scenes of The Greatest Morning Show Ever! At 37 I, like Shelley in a previous blog, wonder whether I'm too old for this kinda thing but the truth is my mornings just wouldn't be the same without you all!! Keep on keeping us informed King Aled - You're the best!! xx

Dear Aled
Fascinating stuff. Much more interesting than my average day, despite the fact that I too am known as a 'celebrity'. Typically, my day revolves around biological experiments in my mobile laboratory. It begins about 6am, when my number one research assistant, Ravel, brings me and Dolores (my wife), a cup of tea in bed. After breakfast I'll check my emails, read a few blogs, comment on the most interesting of them, watch 91热爆 breakfast news, have a cup of tea, read my emails, go to the lab. There, I will, depending on the date, summon the staff and explain the latest experiment/safety procedures, or, reprimand them for a slack output on previous days, or, let them have a day off becaust it's a slow day at the Institute and I want to go for a long walk in the countryside.
Sometimes the police visit around lunchtime to make sure I haven't skipped the country, and because Denise, my faithul if shy receptionist, makes them all ham sandwiches (they are the only ones she knows how to make, but she does them very well).
In the afternoon I generally take a snooze, after which I'll read my emails, answer enquiries from the media/fans etc, take a stroll, have a cup of tea, finish off the experiment, write up my lab notes, perhaps add something to my own blog, play scrabble with Ravel and Dolores. I may also design the following day's experiment or do a little painting, if I'm feeling artistic.

On an ad hoc basis, I'll look at the accounts, go shopping, take photographs, arrange vists to foreign lands, and go hedgehog hunting. This last activity is a necessary part of our activities, for our experiments are performed on the parasites of these spiny little omnivores.
If you have any spare parasites yourself, or a hedgehog you don't need, please let us know, so that we can continue our valuable work.
regards
