I have always wanted to write a book. A work of fiction, not my biog .... not really done much to warrant a biog. Yet!

I'd need a ghost writer for that anyways!

the other biogs i have very much liked (though for different reasons) were Nelson Mandela, John McCarthy and Sharon Osbourne.

i would love to know who wrote their own and who had "help" !!

It must be kind of weird writing your life story - warts and all, no doubt!

Really looking forward to reading it - it's not long until October!

As for reviews, I would advise you avoid them like the plague. People who like you will praise the book. People who don't will take the opportunity to take a pop at you. You are writing the book YOU want to write - the critics can take a hike!

My favourite autobiography was Michael J Fox. Well, not so much an autobiography, as the tale of how he learnt of, and came to terms with, his early onset Parkinson's Disease. Fascinating journey from complete denial to complete acceptance and almost embracing of his condition.

Probably the most uplifting book I've ever read. So far anyway, eh CLP???

Chris .... how long have you been physically writing for? and how much "research" did you do?

I'm not being funny - i can bearly remember what happened yesterday let alone when I was little - although certain events stick out - I would have to ask around to make sure they were real memories and not implanted ones -also my life timeline isn't aligned and sequences of events are quite jumbled so again I would have to plague family members to get it right!

Or is that what the poetic licence is for?

Chris I need you to bring your book out earlier please so could you crack down to it and just work through. I am off on holiday again in September and it would be perfect holiday reading.

Hope you have found the little funny anecdotes that will keep us lot chuckling and love the fact that the family (and car) are keeping you focused and inspired.

Oh well if I cant have the book for my hollies then maybe for Christmas. Love the show I would say keep up the good work, but I think it is something that just comes naturally to you and isnt hard.

I have only ever read one and that was the 91Èȱ¬ jouranalist, Frank Gardeners....incredible read.

Best I've heard, as I listen to lots on the iPod, and it's absolutely Top of the Tree, is.....Stephen Fry's - Moab is my washpot.

Rips: very interesting what you say about Stephen Fry's book. I read it a few years ago and was absolutely loving it ..... until it just started to go over my head. The man is so intelligent, that I just started to lose the thread with it completely.

Do you know what I mean? Might be an idea to listen to it instead - perhaps the spoken word might make more sense to me!

I struggle to read a book as I have a shocking attention span (never! You all say, as I post for the 1000th time today)
So audiobooks accompany me all over the country.

Did you get to the bit about music...."I just can't F----ing do it!" repeated in anger over and over again by the man himself......I'd offer to lend it to you, but I obviously made so many friends take it to listen to that I no longer have it.

Rips: no, I can't remember getting to that part, but if Stephen Fry is speaking this, then I have to hear it! My daughter is now 18 and in love, so I may have a little bit of difficulty getting her to listen to the Oscar Wilde stories - but I am definitely interested!

I think it's terrific that your son is listening to such clever stuff, at such a young age.

Tobes: that has really gotta hurt. Sorry for you, pet lamb. I know this is probably not recommended, but whenever I start antibiotics, I always take double of the first dose on the first day - it does help them kick in faster.

Not content with drinking too much white wine, I now find I'm a bit of a druggie too!

Oh Tobes - you poor thing - thats why you've not been around - you have been missed.

Totally with you on the tooffy pain - I once went to the dentist to have root canal surgery - when he started poking around in my mouth I said - "ig nog at one it on neg to ig" he clearly didnt understand and did it anyway

- anyhoos - 2 hours later when th'anasthetic wore off - it was clear - It wasnt that one - it was the one next to it - had to go straight back and have the other one done too - dentist attitude 'well they both obviously needed doing....' :-(

When I had my wizzies out in my early 20s I lived on scrambled eggs and tinned tomatoes on toast for two weeks! I also caught a cold in hospital - sneezing with stitches in your gums - not big, not clever and certainly not nice!

Somewhere (thankfully I have no idea where) there's a photo of me looking like Desperate Dan with the hugest jawline ever, big black eyes and bruises all over my face.

I make yellow jackets that light up , I could even do one with "CHRIS" or "CLP"

I was thinking about the yellow day ....... should I ever buy a yellow car it would be so that I could find it nice and easy in Waitrose car park.

(my Micra is silver - as are zillions of other cars on the roads)

If you take your yellow car to a yellow day, and having seen Donington Park car parks at near capacity...... I'd be there for a month of Tuesdays looking for my yellow vroom vroom!

So unless someone hires a nice yellow Ferrari / Lotus / Ducati 998, and lets me come along for the ride, I'm guessing I won't be present at yellow day at Doni.

Will see you at the MotoGP in July tho!

Right, the little mountain climber is in bed with his teddy (all good mountaineers take a teddy!!) so I can have a cup of tea and a sit down!!

Tins - He goes from very sweet to raging monster in 3 seconds flat at the mo, I wouldn't let him take the broom for a walk yesterday, had tears and everything for 10 mins.........and he's not even 18 months yet!

Very pleased about a book from CLP to look forward to. Don't normally read autobiographies but will be getting this one.

I am sooo tired! This therapy lark is blooming hard work! Nearly 5 hours a day at the moment. Consultant was pleased with me today though.

Hello, not been around for a bit, very very busy with work and wedding. Just popped in and saw you had posted Debbie - it was lovely to see your name in blue and I hope everything is going well for you.

There are so many recent newbies who are now fully paid-up stalwarts, hello to you all, and to all the oldies too. I noticed Alright Flower saying her blog anniversary was coming up - I think it was about the same time I started, can't believe it, so much has happened since then.

Life at Boleyn House as manic as ever; teen2 has a friend staying tonight as they have to be in school for 7.15!!!!! (off you go, Boleynman) to be in Stratford for a live radio broadcast on 91Èȱ¬ Cov and Warks! Ooo-er. Teen one in middle of GCSEs. She goes on study leave in two weeks time, then no school 'til September - here come the chores.

Off to watch Hell's Kitchen soon, never watched it before this year, finding it very intriguing. Am finally warming to Marco (I think) but I still wish he wouldn't wear that damn tea towel. And I do like that Claudia one, but I think someone should tell her she keeps forgetting to put her trousers on, derrr.

My routine this week has been dropping LM off to school then straight on the motorway to hospital. There until about 4.45pm then pick up LM from who ever was able to collect him from school for me.

I've been taking a heated, lavender wheat cushion to bed with me this week as I end up with a headache every day.

So tonight, now that LM is in bed, must do some housework while Mr Debbie is out doing the weekly shop. Hope to have time for a quick bath before bed.

Better step away from the pc then I suppose :-)

Sorry I've not been around all day, just been a nasty day at work all round...40 people being made redundant (not me thankfully) but sad and feeling guilty! I know it's nothing to with me, but just feel bad for those affected.

Anyway on a brighter Yellow note, am also now regretting selling my Yellow MX5 as I love Donington!

Although Deev, as it was so low, I still lost it in car parks! Actually, bit of a TOG moment the other night with Mr JG's car (black Audi A3 - millions of them!) - another had parked next to me, and I was trying to get into the wrong car! Doh!!

Actually, not too bad at all. Have a new job which is running me ragged, especially as they now have an 'internet filter' which stops me accessing ANYTHING on t'internet at work. What's that all about... I HATE being treated like a child. I know what is acceptable use of the internet, I know how to work and still use the internet in breaks and/or lunch. In fact, using t'internet or patience (I know, sad!) helps me think and process what I need to do next.

Still, am bored now so I'm going to look for 'alternative employment'... wonder what that will be.

Deevs,I have read so many sad stories today of people losing their loved ones.
I lost my Dad 16 years ago when I was 5 months pregnant and in France on holiday.
I rang up to wish him a happy fathers day only to find out that I was a day too late as he had died the day before and as we were in a remote area,no one had been able to contact me.In fact,there was a chance that had I not phoned up when I did,I would have missed the funeral too.He was 64. My Mum passed away 3 years later,after a very invasive 4 month battle with leukaemia.This fell on my husbands birthday and for several years,I found myself mentioning that this was also the day that she had passed away.
Time moves on but the pain and loss still lingers.
I cant say that it gets any easier,because they're are still not there are they?
My parents ashes were scattered at the crematorium but that was not a familiar place to us all.
No,as a family we spent many happy times together in various places.These are the places I return to and feel that I get a bit of them back with me again and almost know
that they would be pleased that I have returned to,after all they, as the parents had chosen these places as somewhere that they had enjoyed and as an adult myself now,I follow on in that contentment now with my children who are reaping what I did at their age.
Find one or two of those special places that were once only yours and go back there and sit,listen,talk if it helps but take yourself back to your memories because they are yours and no-one elses. X.

I hope no one hangs a spoiler across a bridge on the M4...

Sad and comforting all at the same time to hear people's stories about losing some one. My Dad passed away just before my birthday 5 years ago and I still think about him everyday. Living here (Oz) it meant I spent my birthday on a plane heading to the UK for the funeral - nothing like a 28 hour flight to give you time to think.

I still feel like he's around sometimes and as time goes past, I can enjoy that and say g'day to him, rather than finding it painful.

Hope everyone's stories give you a "blug" (blogger-hug) CtD.

October eh? nice one, will pre-order it once it's available. I once started writing my side of the story which I wanted to be printed off ony in the event of my funeral but after 96 pages on a word document disappeared I gave up!!! Good job really as there were some home truths in there!!!!!!!

To those who are thinking of loved ones no longer with us I send you hugs. Was 24 years yesterday I lost my nan, still no easier but had a great chat with her and her rose bush in the sunshine at the crematorium in the afternoon. She loves an update and a bit of gossip.

And Tiger - the bit about being on a plane struck a chord, as dad was resident in Spain when he died. I remember so clearly holding it together, being 'good' until that big silver bird was lining up for its landing at Malaga airport, then bam! Out came the tears. Queue looks of 'what the ...' from the other passengers.

Horrible. Just horrible.

Anyways, taking on board all your comments I shall remember the good times: the times we sailed down the Thames from Weybridge to Limehouse on his 'baby' - a 6 berth pleasure craft. The times in the school holidays when as a child I'd go on the coaches with him (see you in five days mum, just driving down to Spain with dad), being bought up in a pub thinking my dad owned the world.

Yes, loads of good times!

Hiya Diva darling - new easter resolution contribute to the blog more often. Had been put off by certain parties but miss you all so here I am. Thinking of you today. Met Colin Fry (6ixth Sense) a few weeks ago. Very interesting experience and although not for everyone I know - it made sense to me and I am enjoying reading his books. He said I was his new friend - so that's me guys fag hag to the famous!

Firstly thanks for all your good luck messages, Deev, I did as you said an knocked 'em dead!!! that made me laugh, you mad, crazy woman! but in a nice way.

My poor old computer suffered a bit of a melt down yesterday, So I've got loads to catch up on.

Also on the job front, wouldn't you just know it, yesterday had 2 calls from agencies with details of jobs, both paying oodles more dosh and one very local. I've told them both to go ahead and put me forward, well, you never know do ya?

So it seems that jobs are like buses, you wait in the wilderness for ages then 3 turn up all at the same time!! Oh well, just gotta wait an see.

Had a lovely afternoon sat in garden, quaffing some rather lovely ice cold alchoholic (sp) apple juice - not the expensive one Deev - can't find it round these 'ere parts.

All big hugs and warm wishes to you today. You will be sad today and that's allowed. But trust me, every year will be less painful and more full of memories of the fun you had with your daddy.

It's now nearly 20 years since the DDF passed away, and it was only last year that August 15 was almost through before I realised what the date was. I was shocked at my 'insensitivity', and, feeling ashamed of myself that I hadn't called Renee (I was driving in Ireland at the time), I resolved to call her as soon as I'd reached my destination. How could I forget that. So I turned up the radio, must distract myself, I thought. And guess what came on.

Strangers in the Night. Frank Tomato as the DDF used to call him. His favourite song, the one he used to waltz me round the dance floor to, my feet on his; and the one that appears out the ether on many an occasion like this. I was stunned, and as I approached some road works, tears streaming down my face, I heard the words from the traffic policeman in attendance, "Move on, move on..."

Well, yes, I've moved on haven't I. Now what I have are all the priceless memories that make me and the many others who knew him laugh like drains when we think of him.

And the GD is a chip off her granddad's old block if ever there was one.

So that's his legacy, and your dad's will be the same, Cheryl. So be kind to yourself today and feel whatever you feel. It's what makes you.
