Goomage Quiz - Example

We all love a good quiz, don't we? Especially one which is idiotically simple at first, but then suddenly becomes fiendishly hard with no real warning. That moment when your cocky sneer turns to a terrified whine is what keeps autistic quiz-setters like me warm at nights. And with this quiz here, I'm looking forward to a lovely toasty night's sleep indeed...

So, are we ready to play? We are? Good! Here's how it works.

If you look to the top of this blog posting, you'll see a line of three pictures. These are not just random shots taken off the internet with no consideration whatsoever. No, they have a special meaning. What I've done here is break down the name of a famous pop act into chunks, then search for those chunks in picture form, using Google's image-finding tool (hence the name Goomage). The first result I get back is the picture I use.

In this case it's a Can, a woman going YAY! and the West coast of..somewhere. So you see, if you put those three things together, you get the name of a pop act...

That's right, it's Girls Aloud!

Just kidding.

So, fancy having a go at this? Some of these are easier than others, and you might have to think a little laterally to get them. Feel free to test your theories out using Google* yourself, obv!

OK, here's your first one...let's play THE GOOMAGE QUIZ...

Goomage Quiz 1

I can tell you you're looking for three words here. One per picture. And it's the same deal with question two...

Goomage Quiz 2

Question three should be a little easier than those two, if you're finding this hard going. This act has four words in their name, and yes, it IS as obvious as it looks...

Goomage Quiz 3

Feel better now?

Goomage Quiz 4Speaking of obvious. If you don't get this one, you're really not trying. This act has two words in their name, and you'll find the first picture useful in other questions, if you look.

Goomage Quiz 5Now, this one is fiddlier...ish. You're after one word here, but two syllables. And again, once you've got one of them, it's almost TOO easy.

Goomage Quiz 6I might've mis-spelled one of the two words in this act's name on purpose. But really you should be able to get this one in seconds.

Unlike THIS one (five words), muah-ha-Ha-Ha-HA-HA-HAAAH!

Goomage Quiz 7

This one should be easier though (two words)....

Goomage Quiz 8

And this one is just a little random (three words)...

Goomage Quiz 9

So here's a nice obvious one to end on.

Goomage Quiz 10

So, how did you do? Answers in the comments box below, please...

Would the second one be Kings Of Leon by any chance? I'm not fully sure though.

I also wondered if the ninth one was Westlife, but that's only two words, so it can't be it. However, I also have a feeling it might be Plain White T's, will soon see I guess.

Sara: Are you saying MCR, QOTSA, RHCP & FOB (accronym central!) aren't popular in America?? I'm pretty sure they are all American.
