Ah, the party DJ 鈥 what a legend. There seem to be two key types that you鈥檙e greeted with at a disco these days. If you鈥檙e lucky you get the one that keeps you dancing ALL night, until you can鈥檛 feel the bottoms of your feet, and you lose your voice from singing along extremely badly to the cheesy, chart-friendly hits.
But then there are also the DJs that don鈥檛 get it quite right, 鈥楲ove Actually鈥 springs to mind (鈥楶uppy Love鈥 at a wedding and all that). This is why I feel it is our duty to at least give them a slight prod in the right direction when it comes to picking a good-un.
You can鈥檛 go wrong with a bit of Booty Luv, fact (look, don't snigger, it's not MY fault they're called that, is it?).
鈥楽hine鈥 in particular is THE must-have at your next boogie session, as it's another soulful summer party for the ears. It ticks all those booty-shaped boxes (seriously...STOP IT!), and caters for every sort of dancer you could possibly hope to meet in one night.
For example, there's the simple electro beat for all you novice boppers to get that tricksy 鈥榮tep to the left, step to the right鈥 move going on, the 鈥榡umpers鈥 can spring around to a bubbly feelgood chorus, and even the good ol鈥 鈥榩ut your hand in the air with attitude鈥 strut-movers can join in for the 鈥測our time to shine鈥 bit, as if it were YOUR PERFECT MOMENT and stuff...
All in all, yes we know it鈥檚 a cover, taken from a bit of a legend in the world of soul (Luther Vandross). But these lovely ladies have only enhanced the original's dance floor potential. Which is great, so you purists can just calm yourselves and sit down.
