Groove Armada ft. Stush - 'Get Down'
Anyone who has seen the film Madagascar will know that there is something unmistakably brilliant about dance music with a ragga twist (that bit with all those meercats singing 'I Like To Move It' is AMAZING). It's like the sexiest music you can make which young children can have plenty of innocent fun with too. And by sexy, I don't mean smoochy, that's totally different.
Normally at this point I would suggest you watch the video...maybe have it playing while you read the rest of the review...maybe just play the song and skip the review, I'm not telling you how to live your life, you must do as you see fit. The thing with the video to this song is that it contains scenes which are...er...well, it's hard to say. If you're the kind of person who could be offended at the sight of two people in bizarre rabbit/human costumes pretending to have sex, please don't click on any of the links below. Having said that, if you already know you're that kind of person...how the HELL did you find this out?

So, back to the song. It's very simple, so it won't take a lot of explaining. There's a big fanfare bit, and there's that dance/ragga thing I was talking about earlier. The fanfare comes as a welcome break from all that wall-shaking bass, and the wall-shaking bass is what it going to make all the meercats in your house dance like toddlers. It will also make all the toddlers in your house dance like meercats.
It works on grown-up humans too, apparently. Isn't music clever?

This is a great single from Groove Armada, the new album is class too!! Every single track on there is brillaint in its own right. Meanwhile, this first single is very funky in the clubs!!
