The Fratellis - Whistle For The Choir

Post categories:

Fraser McAlpine | 11:38 UK time, Monday, 27 November 2006

So, having lairily torn their way up and down the charts for the last few months like a gang of gatecrashing bigger boys at a 14 year old's house party, goosing the matron and sicking up in the punch-bowl, indie's chirpiest rapscallion trio settle down in the front garden with a banjo for a sing-song and a jolly good cry.

Oh sure, they've made improper advances on the host's elder sister, and they've drawn a willy on the family portrait over the mantelpiece, but the heart can't help but melt a little when the one with the really curly hair starts mumbling sadly about how confusing his loved one can be at times, but how he'd like to be there for her if she really needs him...

...nearby, the one with the beard is wiping snot from his moustache and giving one of those great big racking sighs you only do when you've been quietly sobbing to yourself for a minute or two, and the one whose appearance does not really register compared to the other two is doing something silly, but mournful with a garden gnome.

It's not as good as a fulsome apology and an offer to make good all the damage they caused, but it's still kinda touching. Now, YOU BOYS LEAVE BEFORE WE CALL THE POLICE!

Hmm... I'm not sure about this one; it sounds a bit like a McFly song to me... :S
