Lostprophets - 'Can't Catch Tomorrow'
OK, rocksnobs be warned, if you've let the 'Prophets into your little club of things which ROCK, as opposed to things which are pop and therefore DO NOT ROCK, some of the opinions expressed here might get on your pip a bit. But then, if you're a proper rocksnob, things ALWAYS get on your pip, so chances are you'll probably enjoy this after all...

What we have here is the kind of song McFly would do as the opening number for their debut feature film, IF they were making one, and had they not already come up with 'We Are The Young'.
And even though the lyrics are your typical moany finger-point at how boring everyone is if they're not in a great band like Lostprophets (Lostprophets fans, this might actually mean you too), the song is actually all about the giddy thrill of being in a gang of like-minded mates and bombing about.
It's all in the brilliant rainbow harmonies in the chorus and the whole 'us against the world' optimism generated by that jaunty pop rhythm and the 'do do do' opening, which is straight out of '5 Colours In Her Hair' or some other pop ABOMINATION.
So there, proof, if proof is needed, that although pop bands DO NOT ROCK (apart from Girls Aloud, obv), rock bands DO pop. And rather well too...

Haha, I enjoyed that review. Not a big lostprophets fan, but I'll check it out.
I'm glad that it's becoming quite active here with reviews, interviews, top 5s, vids etc. Any chance of the "pop news" area from the TOTP website making a comeback?
That's certainly the plan Nick, or something similar but shorter.
Keep your eye on the blog over the next week or so, and you should see a variety of new features, some of which will feel familiar and some of which won't.
Thanks for your posts too.
