While driving home from work last night and listening to a cd I noticed it was 6:12pm and so switched over to the radio to listen to GIO. Unfortunately my ears were assaulted by the strangled tones of morrissey. Quick as a flash, I managed to return to Kathryn Tickell. I twice tried the radio again but it was still playing! Later on, CynthiaPlastercaster came over and told me that Bryan had indeed given a MORRISSEY ALERT, so fair dinkum and thanks for that, Bryan. Had I tuned in two minutes earlier I would have been spared. However, this still leaves a problem. If you must play morrissey, and it would appear that you must, could you please make the MORRISSEY ALERT a feature of the programme giving the exact time it will come on and the exact duration of the track. I鈥檓 sure a lot of your listeners would greatly appreciate this.

PS I accept I am responsible and guilty of proffering a list of normal songs: but songs is what they play on GIO - and with great moderation.

Last night's theme, for example, was feeling sorry for yourself - and was tempered by playing some upbeat songs which may have been lyrically unhappy but were nevertheless lacking in true misery - de facto - a re run of sad lyric/happy song: many of them conveyed no sence of true misery at all, which undermined the theme somewhat but satisfied (presumably,in GIO's terms) the requirement for an entertaining drivetime programme.

Therfore, since I like the songs I've put up on my list (I feel certain some of the f***book and text requests are for things that are on maybe on theme but would never be listened to by the requester)and can claim they have something to do with acoustic guitar then I'm in with a half chance of hearing one of them, whereas, if I put up Paul Galbraith - a genius who has revolutionised the instrument - I've got no chance because it's not 'drivetime' music.

And, here's another much requested, never played track with an all acoustic basis to it
