You've got the Ramones, you've got the Small Faces, you've got the Sex Pistols - what's not to like? I know I am yet again very tardy in my recounting of the tales of punk rock past, but I couldn't find my shoes. Speaking of shoes, Elvis Costello was only 22 when he brought out his first LP. I remember an NME snippet where Joe Strummer , in an attempt to find out whether Mr Costello's glasses were , you know, actual specs, tried them on and then walked into a wall. Thereby proving the existence of a lens, not plain pane glass. Of course, as the NME said, Joe would have done that even if they weren't. He was the comedian of the Clash.
