And awwww, on the Christa thing. I don't know about winning her over, but maybe he needs to help her? He was aware of her scratches from watching her. Maybe he knows more than he lets on/remembers about more than just himself...

Newbie who has been lurking about here from the beginning enjoying the theories. Thinking the Janitor is a red herring, and that the repeated references to eggs make me think of Mr Roe (roe being fish eggs).

Or maybe not!

So enjoying all of this though, checking for updates constantly.

I think the cliffhanger twisty thing has to be that solving Matt's murder isn't his unfinished business. I don't think winning Christa is either, though. And the fact that he describes himself as being obsessed with her says it all - that's not going to lead to a relationship, and certainly isn't love.

The question is how much of it, who her boyfriend was? when she was scratched? if she has hidden away on a full moon before? - then again he seems to be looked after by his parents and following her in the evening would mean giving up on dinner.

Good point with the back story. Matt probably knows more than he's letting on about the ex-boyfriend, and why Christa's changed so dramatically.

This is kinda sweet. In a weird, stalker-esque way. At last he figured out that the killer might not be his UFB! But I doubt it's winning Christa over... keep thinking Matt. Hmmmmmmmmm...

It seems that his real choice is whether to be selfish or go because it's the 'right' thing to do. I'm also wondering if solving his murder is his unfinished business or not.* I doubt it will be winning Christa over, because then he'd be here forever, it's more likely help her and let her go.

It's got me thinking about BH, if Annie ever does go through her door, will she always be sent to hell or will she get another decision?


*I suppose it depends on if the powers that be want a second run of this, which they totally should.

7 - I'm with you there!
I think those who say he needs to help Christa is more important than winning her over are right.
If it isn't just obsession, he might need to do one noble thing for her (as opposed to hiding in lockers and peeking). I think that would be more important to him than finding his killer - like he achieved something he can be proud of and having someone actually like and respect him for who he is.

13 - I think you could be on to something. They do look alike, both have the same face shape, bald, similar body type. The janitor is always hunched over so they could be the same height. On yesterdays update 'who is the janitor' his face is different in pic 3 compared to pic 1, like he has put to much prosthetic make up on! :) If the cctv snapshot was in color we could compare more better. If Mr Roe is involved he could be listening on their conversations in detention while head-bopping, and follow them around school in his disguise.

Eggs? Eggs....? ewww. I kinda feel for Matt, you know, not being able to be with the person he admires most (but the way he went about it, like watching her...kinddaaa creepy.) It's almost heart breaking. But I'm sure we aren't gonna see the last of Matt by the end of s1. Can't wait till things get crazy; when they finally accept and become what they truly are (Christa....), and use it. Need more Arista! :) I just want to give Matt a big ol' hug. He looks like a nice hugger. Like Winnie the pooh. :D

I've just had a thought: the janitor is around school all day doing stuff; Roe is around all day teaching. So I don't think they're the same person, as Roe can't be in two places at once. I still think he's involved somehow, and the janitor does look a bit prosthetic-y...

hello guys managed to get on with my cousins laptop we are out in the county side so internet sooooo slow i have a full note pad of a full length episode of becoming human i was getting excited writing it i was like omg whats going to happen oh yeh i have control over what happens ah but yeh i dident put matt in it just because if matt does go it would be a bit odd but at the moment in my book christa has told he mum and dad about the wolf thing (they got her a cage) adam told christa that he cried when the vampire started feeding from him because of something (i will tell you later because its like proper good)so christa has taken him into a room and told him exactly what happend and showed him all the scars ok speak to you in a minute

21 - Or their almost identical twins! The Janitor got so depressed of Mr Roe's high flying carer that he aged 20 years! :)

.....Although them being one and the same person sounds less absurd.

Probably raised elsewhere, but my thoughts:

Running into the toilets was a spur of the moment thing and he wasn't followed, so unless it was a random chance meeting the murderer must have known Matt was in there and deliberately gone in for him. That means he must have seen Matt on the CCTV. Which means he/she is someone who wouldn't have looked suspicious in the CCTV room - a teacher or janitor.
In which case what would Matt have done to p*ss of such a person that they wanted to kill him. Did they think he had seen something else through the eye-hole?
Also in update #29 the "janitor" following Christa looked like it was a full-head mask, which would explain why the killers hands looked younger.

But I'm probably completely off track! lol

Ok now I am sure that the list thing is a werewolf thing because all werewolves seem to make lists

In my own opinion, i think that Matt won't go. they'll find the killer or perhaps the killer strikes again and then they manage to get him and he escapes death just like Annie did. Adam will probably then fall for Christa creating a love triangle. that's just my opinion though.

I lol'ed at the River Song reference too! Liking the theory of the janitor being Roe in disguise. Slightly inplausible being their differing heights but the janitor does seem to be stooping so maybe I will stand to be corrected.

How nice it is to come on here after 3 hours and find that there are only 32 (33) posts. Schools not kicked out yet kids? lol Seriously though, I know you are all excited about this and pride yourselves on getting ridiculously high post counts on each new item but it is making it very difficult for people to keep up after wading through pages and pages of 'tangents' and other stuff. 7 you my friend are completely right.

I think it's safe to assume that Matt won't crossover even when his UFB is settled. He's one of the main cast and is therefore unlikely to be written out so quicky. He's bonded, to an extent, with Adam and Christa and like he says they're the best friends he's had.

My concern is when Matt finally finds out who killed him, will he go all poltergeisty like he did with Danny Curtis? Matt deserves retribution but will he become different as a result. Will he be 'human' enough not to go too far? I think if we get another series we'll see a different Matt, maybe a more confident Matt. But will he be the kinda guy that Christa can love? I know most people here want to see her and Adam together but knowing the writers they could take us on a whole different tangent.

32: Annie has always been fond of lists and Matt's started on them - they are both post-living individuals.
It’s the height thing that makes me think that the Janitor isn’t Roe. I’ve gone back through all the updates and even given the slight ‘hunch’ over the Janitor walks with, he is still too short. Swann on the other hand is slightly smaller than Roe (see Swan Vs Roe update).
We heard Swann yelling before he started hitting the bag in the last episode, but you didn’t hear anyone else respond! The Janitor is probably more likely to be Swann than Roe, if he is indeed in disguise.
Tried to look at Swann’s left arm and can’t rule that being THE arm. His forearms are not so large and in a different light, in the toilets, his hair might seem a little lighter…..
Worth taking another luck at his hand as he lifts the lid on the Gym horse on Adam and Christa!

Which has made me think - what if they work out who the murderer is, but they don't get 'justice', as it were.... An ongoing battle with the baddie next series?

I don't like the whole Roe = The Janitor theory. It's far too Scooby Doo for my liking. The BH/BcH writers are far too talented to take us down that road!

I still believe Roe is the killer, although i can't think of a motive. I think the janitor is just a red herring, every school has one why should this school be any different?

I don't think the killer/Roe is a supernatural because as BH has shown we humans are the real monsters at times. Our protagonists are trying in vein to *be* human when all along being human isn't all it's cracked up to be!

41 - Good point after Annie found out the truth it took a while before she was able to stand up to Owen - Plus if the killer has enough influence it's going to take a bit of effort to bring them down. A plot line that could fit with a whole season.

Other possible plot lines

Barry fall out.
Other Ghosts.
Other vampires.
Other werewolves.
The War between species.
The threat of a cage - Not ready for Christa to tear somebody apart without need but the threat of it.

so many other options when series commissioned

41. I agree, justice should be done. Matt should be allowed retribution but how far is too far?

As far as Annie sending Owen nuts and draging Kemp to the otherside. Is this why she is fighting Lia for her soul in episode 8? Are Annies transgressions part of 'the long game'? Is she paying the price as much as Mitchell?

mabye at the end of this series they will find out who the killer is but they have no proof. So if there is a series 2 (which there probably will be)they might have to find a way of proving who killed matt without exposing who they are. Matts unfinshed buisness might be to bring his killer to justice. A bit like when Annie was trying to scare her ex-boyfreind into confessing he killed her? x

I don't think that the janitor is mr Roe but they could still be related. I am still confused why mr Swan asked mr Roe to bleech the toilets in episode 5. It seems like he is covering something up. Maybe this could be a reason he would pretend to be a janitor so he didn't look suspicious.

39: further to my post at 39, you get the impression they are the same height, but Roe spends most of the time with his head down and Swann stands slightly camera side of Roe.
I had to point it out here at my PC to someone looking over my shoulder....

It's pretty much certain that Matt isn't leaving at the end of the series.
This either means: UFB isn't finding murderer or Matt doesn't go through his door because I'm pretty sure we'll find out who the murderer is in the last ep.

I think that his unfinished business is definately something to do with Christa. Maybe it's not to be in a relationship, but just for he to acknowledge that she respects him, or that he's made some kind of impact on her. After being invisible to someone for so long it would be pretty gratifying wouldn't it?

And I think that River Song's a good charcter, but they've strung it out too long onw. We need to find out who she is soon. the referance to DW made me happy XD

77 - I don't think Christa would ever forgive them if they did that. She'd hate that she'd killed someone, and that would end any chances of Arista / S2.

I like River Song.

But Matt's DW reference has made him go far higher in my list of liked things. He is pretty scarily like myself: except not a girl, the whole egg thing and not rather fond of Jude the Obscure.

Oh and I'm not a ghost. That's important too.

But lists are good. And I agree: there is one heck of a lot of scope between the two series and I would like it to be put into a proper series.

But most of all, if Becoming Human (please BHP!) a proper series, I would love to see it as a far better thing than it's comparable American counterparts.

Hi all! Just got back from school and i haven't had achance to read over all of your posts so sorry if i mention something that has already been brought up.

So here goes:

-Matt says 'Adam reackons...' it suggests that he doesn't altogether trust what matt says otherwise he would/might have said 'matt told me..' or something else to that effect. Although 'reckon' is slang so it could just be that.

-He thinks/assumes he will go to 'heaven or something' rather than hell. Either he doesn't consider that he's done anything bad enough to go to hell or he just isn't religious- but then why say heaven?

-More egg references, i'm convinced that there will be something to do with eggs as to why he died. His last meal? Thoughts?

-He uses (or tries to use) humour to get his point across but then feels the need to clarify himself and say, 'that was a joke'- clearly has problems with self esteem if a pros and cons list (or mattlist) that he makes for HIMSELF still has that justification of what he's saying. Nervous personality.

-He doesn't want to look the way he does, he wants to be appreciated by all the people that made fun of him even if (and i know he saud it was a joke, but that doesn't mean he hasn't considered it) it involves killing people for them to see him when he's 'all buff'.

-He enjoys the idea of freaking people out 'because the rowing machine is working on its own.'- wants revenge more than anything else, perhaps even more than he wants Christa.

-point 3, i find irrelevant for the case. but he does use limited vocabulary suggesting (although we knew that already) that he's 'not the sharpest knife in the Drawer'.

-'Supernatural Monster Squad'- needs a sense of belonging even if it's from people that hate/dislike him.

-'Adam and Christa are the best friends i've ever had.'- what about steve mckenna?! if A and C treat him the way they do and they are still the 'best friends he's ever had' then what sort of friend was steve mckenna? Leans more towards his involvement in the murder.

-'River Song'- doctor who reference? (i hope so!)

-point 3. makes no sense in the 'reasons to stay' coloumn. Shouldn't it be in 'reasons to go'?

-He admits that he is obsessed with Christa. This is good. The first step on the road to recovery is admitting that you have a problem.

-he thinks that his mission is to win her over- we've already discussed that possibilty earlier. -Quite possible but i doubt it could ever happen.

Arista are meant to be together.

I don't think it proves anything, but it is interesting, and could point towards some significance on Roe's part

My mum went to primary school with River Song (Alex Kingston) :P Although i agree her character has been on too long.
Haha it would be quite funny if Mr Roe was the Janitor - it would explain why the Janitor hasnt been doing much work (ep 5) and why it was Mr Roe who had to clean the toilets. Sort of. :P

90 - Good point about Christa and Adam being the best friends Matt has ever had - not Steve McKenna. McKenna was probably just someone who wasn't mean to him, but diddnt want Matt tagging around with him - i would be the same.

The fact that he keeps stating unpleasant/outragous thoughts and then confirming he was joking does tell us that Matt has had some negative thoughts since he died - not that many people wouldnt! But he seems to wish everything was different, all exept his acceptance in the 'supernatural squad'

I'm so glad this is a long post because we have more to analyse . It definitely beats showing us pictures of the janitor that we have already seen. Hmm...it makes me wonder when Christa hasn't posted an update yet. It's probably something to do with the full moon or whatever. The updates are actually (in BcH time) spread over a few hours because in the last episode Christa said 'the full moon is tonight'. So maybe the day's are actually hours for them. We will probably get an update from Christa, but because Matt just posted a very long post I highly doubt it would be a diary entry. It might be just a picture. It's making me wonder though, how are they going to stay at school until Christa transforms without anyone noticing?
It's really bugging me and I know that everyone else has mentioned the fact that it is possible they (probably just Christa) will be caught. I'm kinda hoping (not in a mean way) that she get's hurt or hurts someone else just to see how Adam and Matt react. Lol, imagine Adam running with Christa in his arms and Matt trying to keep up...
That probably won't happen though, it's just my idea that I would LOVE to happen. :)
