Story of Wales

World War ll brought wholesale destruction to many towns in Britain. In Swansea it was the heavy and sustained bombing by the Luftwaffe over three nights in February 1941 that has remained etched in Brian Legg's memory and you can hear his story on the red button.

World War II was also a trigger for a sea-change in employment opportunities for women in Wales. Women took jobs in munitions and aircraft factories, as well as civilian jobs left empty by men.

Press red to discover how the post war years brought women into the workforce and instigated a change in the whole of the Welsh economy.
