The new topic tracker currently doesn't allow you to track the 91热爆 Internet or The Editors blogs.

3 questions- Why is it that the main page is set by default to Suede - is this some crafty way to make people customise?
- Isn't it a bit cheeky to say on the bbc.co.uk main page - "Changes to the 91热爆 homepage, NEW!Learn what's new or give feedback"
- There is NO method I can easily see, from that link, or *anywhere* on the site, to give feedback generally about the homepage. An FAQ link isn't a way to get feedback.

- Every time we clear our cookies, we clear our settings? Why not associate the settings with the user account?

please change it so that when you click on the small pictures (top stories) at the top of the home page it sends you to that page, like with the old page. granted its a tiny thing moving my mouse over to the big picture but its just annoying.

Hate it. Not clear like the old one in that it is messy. Doesn't see all that long ago when the website was changed. Sorry but don't like it.

Along with 91热爆 Internet and Web Developer, Test Match Special blog is also unable to be followed using topic tracker.

For me the topic tracker is not the right tool to keep track of blogs -- please bring back the old blogs module (or an RSS reader)!

Once again, Formula 1 has been left off the sport module. As a flag-ship sports broadcast for the Beeb, it should be available as a check-box to select sports headlines on the homepage.

Pretty frivolous changes to spend our money on...frankly I could easily make a case that it is no real improvement.

I appreciate progress, but not on my money without being consulted. Why should the 91热爆 have a cutting edge website? Have you asked your "shareholders" whether we need one?

very misleading (and apparently meaningless) time, i.e., "x minutues ago," posted by the main news story. Follow the link and it appears that the page was updated longer ago; but more seriously, the time does not refer to the story content.

E.g.: "Decision time, says Cameron" keeps being renewed as if it had been said only 10 or 20 minutes ago - whereas he said it hours ago now. Earlier I was assuming that Cameron had repeated himself to the media perhaps 2 or even 3 time 鈥� but this does not seem to be the case.

Fantastic. This new home page now crashes my browser nine times out of ten. Sadly I'm stuck with IE6 at work (as I'm sure are many others).
I know the 91热爆 is not under any obligation to support such hideously outdated software, but this is a big shame for me as it makes accessing the news that much harder.

Why doesn't "The Sky at Night" make it to the full A-Z list search from the top bar. Surely, as a record breaking program from the 91热爆 it deserves a place on the list??

Why, within the 'News' box, can I not get rid of 'Local News'? I do not want Local News and would appreciate being able to get rid of it.

The new design is very positive, but there are still a couple of bugs that need to be resolved.

When hovering over the 'title bar' of a module that uses background colour, such as the clock module and the C91热爆/CBeebies module, the bottom two corners of the module contain white pixels which should not be there (tested in Firefox and Chrome).

The second bug is really just an omission - the 'Listen Live' links in the radio module do not open in a smaller new window as they should, instead loading the miniature radio players in the main window. Hopefully this can be fixed soon!

I think the three sub-headers to the right of the main header should each be clickable.

At present, they roll-over and show their item in the main area, but you then have to click the main piece to get the story.

Why not have the sub-headers linking straight to the story?

It's awful. I can't get the local news to get off the page and when you go to an article, it looks just like the pages of the websites of cheap tabloids.

And there's only one recipe in the food section now, not three, just like the news and sport headlines. It's rubbish!

The Radio section is less useful than the old homepage. It no longer tells me what's on next (I can find out what's currently playing using my radio). Accessing the Radio 4 schedule now requires an additional selection of FM/LW on a separate page (!) - why not display the FM schedule with a button for the small number who would like the LW info (or make this a 'preference').

Just like to say that the new 91热爆 page is not very clear. In fact I think it is rubbish. Surely news should be at the top of the list. What is with the vacant space between the lists?

The main page is failing to load correctly on some Smart Phones due to the heavy memory requirements of the new page.

As others have mentioned, it is unexpected that the three blobby buttons on right hand side of the masthead aren't actually links. Tried quite hard to click them! Why does the mouse cursor change to a hand if they're not actually clickable?

Why have the 91热爆 gone for a website format that is worse than the old one and just a blatant attempt to be as much like Facebook as possible? Why do I need to know that a story was uploaded 1 minute ago, or an hour ago? It seems odd that you can justify to have a 24 hour news channel on TV when the main story you are reporting was reported on over a hour ago? The time listings only make me wonder why we pay such large contributions to the 91热爆. Why when the 91热爆 are making such big cuts to programming and content would you spend so much time resources and money changing an already good thing. Well done 91热爆 on improving nothing for something.....

I do not like it. There is no listing of Radio programmes unless you click on full schedule. I preferred the layout before. If it ain't broke, why change it?

I must admit I don't really like the format of the new web page. I preferred the old one. I deliberately avoided trying the Beta page on offer. I am still wondering why, when I have set and selected "My Location" only to find that it very often changes back from my home town in Cheshire, back to London??? This happened with the old version of the 91热爆 web page, and I'd hope it would at least be an improvement with the New one....Sorry, no it isn't. Can't find a way to ask the 91热爆 why this is. Bored with the new site already.

The webpage is completely destroyed in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. The only browser I have seen it work fine is IE.

I agree with Matthew and Steve. The three subheaders at the top need working on.
1) They fooled me when I first navigated to the site. My mouse was at the top of the screen and, when I moved it down, the picture of the Houses 0f Parliament disappeared. I had oviously wiped over the subheadings without realising. Perhaps they should be made to respond more slowly.
2) When you hover over the subheading, the mouse cursor changes to the hand symbol. To me, that means that it is a clickable hyperlink. I was clicking on at and patiently waiting for something to happen. It took me a while to work out that you have to click on the main picture.

Slightly off topic, but when will the iPlayer for IPAD be ready?

The page looks fine on an IPad BTW (Just needs HTML5 not flash for video!!)

Regarding my previous comment, it's just Mozilla Firefox that the top part is garbled - not Google Chrome. I am running Firefox 3.6.

This new design is awful. Why do the 91热爆 feel they have to continually change everything for the sake of it. What a waste of time, effort and money.

Any plans to deal with the situation with Apple not supporting Flash for the iPhone and iPad? Lobby Apple? Stop using Flash for the 91热爆 iPlayer and video clips? For those considering buying an iPad and who also enjoy using the iPlayer this is a serious drawback. Of course it goes beyond the 91热爆 site. A real issue with the iPad in my view.

Ah, the top part of the point is really annoying. Having a move your cursor over the individual article and then move the cursor to the bigger picture is really annoying, now that most people have got used to clicking on the smaller pictures.

That all said, it's looking great and a lot more interactive. So much easier to use and follow now. Great work. One of the only websites I know that is actually moving forward and upgrading when it changes rather just having something new.

Why o'why do organisations always feel the need to change things over and over again as the 91热爆 endorses the Microsoft habit, if it is not broke why fix it.

I enjoy listening to the radio and wonder why you have removed the 'what's on next' and 'listen again' links. Now I'm obliged to go to the full programme schedule or the Iplayer.
What is this obsession all web sites have with change, it must be a real bind for elderly people who already struggle with Internet use.

I have a Mac and can now no longer read any pages that have the new version on them especially all of the Sport pages. All I see is the header and footer on the screen but no actual content. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Its far less accessible, theres less links to news sport etc on there and it seems muddled. Bring the old one back.

This is dreadful. Too many silly little time-wasting clips from News rather than pithy reports which is what a website should contain. Do we need a banner across the top this big?

I don't expect to have to go through a convoluted series of emails to get this information. It would help if we were given a straight answer.

I have used the 91热爆 homepage as my own homepage for many years and I was quite happy with the old version apart from the ridiculous situation re F1/Motorsport/Sport which I gave feedback about many times but was always ignored. I see that the F1 problem is now being addressed, unfortunately too late as I feel I will be changing my homepage. The new version is not user-friendly, many parts of the 91热爆 are difficult to access from it, the Blogs module has gone, I am confused between Play Again and iPlayer etc etc

Why am I forced to have foorball headlines in the sports section?

Even if I only select say cycling I still get the football headlines.

Other sports are available. Please respect peoples rights not to have football forced down their throats.

Erm, is there any chance we could have the old one back please? This one's inferior to the previous release because:

1. The clock is now in the wrong place;

2. The 'quick' links on the right-hand side aren't that quick;

3. There is less information displayed less clearly than before;

4. The ludicrously-sized banner across the top of the page shifts relevant content further down the page - now I have to do more scrolling to see detail that was previously visible immediately upon opening my browser.

There is no reason for changing the home page appearance just because you may have migrated onto a new technology platform (it's just a skin that can look like the previous release).

I have also used the 91热爆 home page as my home page for many years. As the new version is muddled, messy and annoying, I will no longer be using it. I cannot customise it in ways to make it user friendly. Everything appears in the wrong place on the screen including the once-friendly clock. What a waste of money. It looks as if it has been designed by a committee. Can we have the old page back please?

I'd also prefer the TV and radio modules to tell me what's on now, and the next - say - 3 or 4 programmes, instead of listing prime time programmes (or at least having this a setting that I can customise - surely if it's an interactive site, decisions about content should rest with us the user, not you!)

as most computer monitors are now widescreen, why is the bbc page stuck in the middle only using 1/2 but twice as long; do the bbc designers all have thier monitors turned round page style? If you include customizing options, why not the width?

I loved the previous website and was very disappointed to see that it had changed. I have, at last, managed to customise it nearly as it was but...
Please could we have the 'listen again' link back on the radio site. It is annoying to have to go via the i player.
It would also be nice to be able to see the next program to be broadcast.
I am not sure what is so special about the media site at the top, if that is what is it. It seems to offer no more than before and one cannot link directly on to the item.

What a hugely retrograde step this new format represents. It seems like change for changes sake, with very little benefit and mostly a lot of frustration for regular users. Please change it back !

By the way, can someone explain to me how to set the three-day forecast temperatures to Fahrenheit? It's easy when you go to the five day forecast, but seemingly impossible on the regular 91热爆 homepage.

I'd be more impressed if the 91热爆 fixed the longstanding bug that "set location" puts me in South West Wales, whereas according to the 91热爆's own regional map I am in Mid Wales and that's where all my local news and information are. I've been emailing about it for the last couple of years, but they're more interested in appearance than content. Now where else on the 91热爆 do we find this?

I don't mind the website changing again, slightly irritating but I can cope. I have once again re-customised. However, I have a visible screen which is 26.5 cm in height, and now you have put the banner right across the top, with a mini banner on the news section for the top story, what I consider to be the content of the page, for which I actually visit the site, now starts 20cm down the 26.5cm - so only the bottom quarter of my screen carries any useful content. This is daft - please consider that many of us come to the website home page for basic information, news headlines, weather etc, and it's being gradually eroded.

Why is it not always possible to listen to Radio 4 Live?
Sometimes it says it is unavailable at this time but this morning it jusy did not come on - Radio 3 was fine.

How would I normally be able access the site to make a comment, when there is no longer a link from the 91热爆page media site?

Good stuff, but please add a button somewhere to 'lock' the widgets so that the things to rearrange them don't get in the way when I just want to use my current layout.

I find the new page easier to highlight my interests. I am not too keen on the particularly large highlight header but can live with it.

Why when I can alter the home page to display the varying sections is it not possible to similarly edit the radio programme list. I would much prefer to have only those radio listings that I listen to rather than the multiple choices.

I have one major complaint with the radio links. Why when I attempt to listen to Radio 4 am I informed that it is not available at this time. I am using the Firefox browser and this happens too often yet if I switch browsers to Opera access is immediately available. The programme link /iplayer/console/bbc_radio_four fails regularly in Firefox but if I add "fm" after the four access is available. Can you please ensure that the link works 100% of the time as having to mess about to receive the programme is ma pain in the nether region.

On the whole I agree with everyone who said "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" and I'd love to know how much was spend on ti! But maybe it was broken for some users - the 91热爆's website has to suit so many visitors that it's gotta be extremely difficult to please all of the people all of the time!

Just a couple of points I've noticed from reading the comments:

> I agree it's odd not to be able to click on subject headings on the right of the headline box... but I assume it's because the site has been built to allow multiple links/multiple stories per headline. So you click on the subject on the right (right now it's "David Cameron moves into No. 10") and then in the main box you get 3 stories all under that headline ("The Tory-Lib Dem coalition", "The David Cameron story", "Live coverage online"), so you can pick to go to the right one. It's only in the case of one of the right hand side headlines (at the moment) that there's only one link in the main box.
Perhaps a way around this would be that hovering over the headlines on the right changes the main content, but that clicking on the right headlines takes you to whatever story has been selected as the primary/leading article out of the 3 linked.

who_he - I'd say making the site variable width would be a nightmare with the fact that you can move things around. The widgets are fixed width (so it would be opening another can of worms to change them), and if they kept the same widgets in 3 columns - but just variable width, you'd have loads of white space. People would make their home pages look really odd and then blame the 91热爆!

Something needs to be done about the comment pages.
Having 500 posts per page is far too much.
Rendering a page with 500 comments slows the browsers down and some take so long you think the browser has crashed.

Don't your web designers know anything about reducing time retrieving data from the backend database, rendering the data on the web server and sending it all down the wire to the browser?

I think you should reduce the number of comments down to 100 per page or even 50.
That will speed up the rendering of the page by retrieving less data from the database, less overhead on the database not having to retrieve 500 records, but also less data is sent to the browser making the web page more responsive.

always great to see the Beeb improve its website keep it up. Couple of things I would like though;
1) Main stories on the home page - i can't click through from the 3 intros, instead we have to move across to the larger image on the left? this is confusing, and initially i thought my internet wasn't responding! until i realised it wasn't a link - please fix this
2) the clock - i love the clock on all the pages. not sure on the reasons behind linking it to my computer clock as i've never known that show the right time in a month of sundays. can't you link it to the atomic clock?

The new site is fantastic, please add the ability to put favourite football team news on the front page like the mobile version.

Love it guys. Well done!! I am a web developer myself and the 91热爆 site has always been the benchmark of what I aspire to create. You have moved the bar higher again and I congratulate you. The site, to my mind, is comprehensive, clear, very cutting edge and most importantly user friendly. Obviously you will get the odd gripes about people not liking the new site because of "change" but I think the changes have been quite subtle visually since the last new site (so gloriously plagiarised by a certain Irish political party ;-). Keep it up, and congrats to the team

Where is Formula 1? News is not posting to the Motorsport section, and there is no specific F1 section to be able to select - given the money the 91热爆 spent on securing F1 (which I agree with) I think more could be done to improve it's presence on the new look webpage - please either re-connect the link to Motorsport, or create a heading of it's own (preference) - thank you.

In addition to my F1 comment, the story of Kimi Raikkinen being buoyed by his Rally Debut has been on there for months now - please, oh please can we have someone look at this - if nothing else, it's a waste of valuable space..... thanks again....

The new home page is ok. The previous page was better however.

What is the point of the navigation bar at the top? It just takes up space unnecessarily. All of these pages are already available from the main body of the page and also from the 'Explore The 91热爆' pane at the bottom (which is far more useful).

Could the main banner be made deselectable from the 'Customise This Page' tab? Although some people may like this feature, myself, and I suspect a large number of others, just find it annoying. Again, this just takes up space. Who decides which topics it covers. It seems to me that the 91热爆 is trying to manipulate peoples browsing.

Why do you nearly always use unflattering or embarrassing pictures of people in the news, this is typical tabloid reporting and must be deeply insulting to the people concerned.

It seems to me that the changes hace been made for changes sake and to justify the cost of your web design department. I don't know how much this has cost but it is hard to see any justification for it - the majority of users seemed to be happy with the original version.

The time and effort would be better utilised in proof reading the pages (especially the recipes which are strewn with mistakes).

On the whole I like the new home page... but wonder why it takes noticeably longer to load than the previous iteration.

Could you link the clock to a reliable time-server, please? Although my computer's clock is so linked, most people don't bother and I'm sure they'd find it useful to know the correct time.

I don't have any strong feelings about the redesign. I just wish I could get my local weather forecast on the front page like I used to. Typing in my postcode over and over again doesn't seem to be the way to do it, though I've started to derive a strange satisfaction from the repetition itself...

I fixed my Firefox issue. I had to hit CTRL+F5 to flush whatever data was being cached. Firefox is now working fine.

It's OK but with Safari 4.0.5(Mac version) the clock does not display and the radio buttons in the drop-down panel don't go anywhere, I.E. only the station names appear. Where the clock should be the date and time in text display. Yes I have set my location. It all works with Firefox and IE (so it's not a Mac thing) but I would rather use Safari!

Once again a fantastic upgrade. Subtle yet significant. Judging by the comments it seems that the 91热爆 website is appreciated less in this country than it is envied abroad.

A warning to all those campaigning for "better things to spend *my* money on", if it were taken away you'd miss it.

Why does the 91热爆 still jump the site to the "www.bbc.co.uk" address and not the simpler "bbc.co.uk"?

These days almost all sites work without the www prefix.

I like it. Sure it has some bits to be ironed out but that would be the same with any site renovation and I am sure the feedback you have had will help you do that. All the best with it.

Suspect JAVA is the culprit.

Could become unusable like ebay who are obsessed with continually redesigning their website.

The redesign doesn't add much, other than noticably loading slower.

This discriminates against people with older PCs & slower internet connections.

Discriminates against the poor & old, not good.

What was wrong with the way it was before?
The news stories are are in really small print and where is are the 'Wierd and wounderfull' stories that used to be near the bottom?

This is not an improvement, It's a cock up and at a time when costs are being cut, like getting rid of 6 Music which a lot of people enjoy, it's just taking the mick!

Jo - This is a mostly decent evolutionary change. It is good to see from your post #25 that some of the main gripes are being addressed, although I'm disappointed that this did not happen during the beta.

I'd just like to add my voice to those clamouring for the removal of the misleading "X minutes/hours ago" info. Was it included just to fill the space beside the pictures? I'd rather have smaller pictures and one more illustrated headline per widget.

I'd also like the TV widget to be more flexible. At the moment the edit function doesn't do anything other than link me to "set my location", which feels like a bug - it's certainly not what I'd expect it to do. In particular:

- I would like the ability to remove the "on now" section of the TV widget. For me, this really gets in the way.
- It would also be nice (but less vital) if I could vary the number of programmes in the "on tonight" section, in the same way as I can vary the number of "top stories" in other widgets.

Finally, and contrary to some other comments, please do not even think about making the home page wider. There are still a great many 4x3 format screens out there, including almost all in the workplace. Also, many of the older members of your audience will be set up so that the image fills the full width of the screen, to make it easier to read. You must not disenfranchise them - your fastest-growing market!

I consider that the 91热爆 web site was good value. The range and ease with which you could access such disparate types of information on numerous topics of interest was to be commended.......however I dislike the changes that have been made to the front page.
It seems that in one fail swoop you have managed to change a system that was easy and intuative to use and personalise to one that is not.

pretty pretty please bring back the old format, I'm a technophobe in training and could manage that format! Plus loved the history facts and would rather like to know what's on next on the radio.

Haven't even attempted to access it from my iphone as I'm sure it will bugger it up.

The new site seems specially designed to be hard to read with topic areas much closer together, unecessarily small font size, and font which is in fuzzy grey rather than black. bbc.co.uk has been our home page for years but if there is no way of making the page more legible for someone with normal to middling eyesight then we'll be bidding it goodbye.

What a complete and utter mess. Why don't you for example not have any results of matches on the main page so come match of the day etc i don't know the results? I often use the bbc to get the latest news headlines but find it frustrating that the sports always has the results of any even plastered all over the main page. why can't you just have it so you have to clink into it to get the results? That would be much better. The Forest/blackpool exciting 2nd leg was ruined because of your main page. thanks.

The top THIRD of my screen is used for the new banner. Your designers should consider common people with a landscape screens. we are not designers with portrait screens. Surely you have done basic research - people now have WIDER screens which are less taller.

On my netbook I can hardly see anything else but your banner.
Also I would like to save my customisations in a separate file.
I would like copy this to my laptop, my home computer etc.

Otherwise I am sure the new design is great; as was the previous one.

Why is it not possible to get rid of 鈥渓ocal news鈥�? It鈥檚 neither local nor news. Also the main banner is too large, restricting the amount of genuinely selected information that can be displayed. In fact it would be advantageous if all of the boxes were able to be resized.

How can we change back to the old layout because the new one is horrific. Its not well presented and fiddly to use. Agree with a previous statement. Why fix it if its not broken?!

There's not much point in going into too much detail about why I dislike the new layout as the reasons have been covered many times in previous messages (but try the overly large banner, the omission of 'what's next' for the Radio menu and the impossibility of accessing it via my phone for starters).
No doubt you listened to the comments of people who had tried the Beta version, but there's lessons to be learnt from those who simply switched back to the old version without sending you comments.
Please stop messing around with stuff that works.

I do not like all of the optional content on this site by default so I customised it. Next time I logged on the content had been reset to the default not what I customised. I have security set to avoid cookies but it seems unlike the old site, this one needs cookies.

This is not good so perhaps I need to find a new home page but I thought this is MY 91热爆! Not.

The new site seems ok but why oh why is there no F1 link on the sports section? After all the money spent on it, rightly so, its very odd. Also the motorsport section, if you are going to have it please update it! The Kimi story has been there for ever. Thanks.

Sorry - I'm not a fan of the new homepage. It's the first time I can recall where it feels like a step back, rather than a step forward with the 91热爆 website. Fewer pictures, less to choose from, ad blockers leaving spaces - it all rather feels like you're making the decisions, not us. Wrong way round.

The new home page is TERRIBLE! What a mess. The previous one was a clear, clean design. I hate the effect you get when you hover over a box - I don't want distractions. I know how to navigate my way round a web-page without being visually directed. PLEASE restore the old page. This is a disaster. As someone else says, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. And if you are directing someone to a page where they can "provide feedback" make sure they can do so. I don't have a single good thing to say about this redesign but as a licence-fee payer, I resent the cost that has inevitably gone into it.

Oh, and another thing. I used to appreciate the fact that you could change the contrast colour depending on the story you chose at the top of the screen, so you could avoid having orange and select something more muted or less migraine-inducing. Now you seem to be stuck with whatever colour the Beeb decides on. Shame. That was a good feature which has now disappeared.

Has anybody else had problems 'setting their location' as when I type in my postcode it just sits there searching for ever.

Am I missing something or is it really not possible, within the 'News' box, to get rid of 'Local News'? That was possible before. I have no interest in Local News. This is extremely annoying. Please change things back to the way they were so that it is possible to get rid of it.
