Blogmanstars!

Ìý

I had a thought about new names for paint colours inspired by stuartmemo's post a while back about Beatles themed paint colours. I was going to abandon the new paint names thing because I was reminded that Marc & Lard used to do a very similar thing on Radio 1 back in the day but stuartmemo's Beatles twist reignited my enthusiasm. How about a Bowie paint range?! Go on, stop watching election coverage and do something REALLY important! here's a couple to get you going:

Secret Life of Azalea

Panic In Turqouise

Look Back In Amber

Fuchsia Legend

Ìý

Those are very bad. You have to be able to do better! HELP!!

love Adam (((((xXxXXXXxXx)))))

    Hello lovely Buckles!

    I'll play this one:

    Heart's Filthy Lemon
    I'm Afraid of Amaranth

...okay I'm out of Bowie songs! (Spot the NIN fan :-)

  • Comment number 2.

    He-rose
    Green Bitch
    Golden Years
    We Are The Red
    Up The Hill Blackwards

Can we do Star Wars Bowie songs next? I've already got Anakin Detroit in my locker.

  • Comment number 3.

How about 'Diamond Dog Poo Brown'?

Too crude? Ok what about the dead obvious "Blue Blue electric Blue"

  • Comment number 4.

    Cat Purple (Putting Out Fire)
    Absolute Begonias

  • Comment number 5.

Wow, that's very flattering! Here are a few more...

A Blue Career in a Blue Town.
    Joe the Cyan
The paint can hue gold the world.

Yeah, that last one doesn't make any sense.

  • Comment number 6.

    How about...

    Violet Goldmine
    Sapphire-and-jet City
    Life on Mauve?

  • Comment number 7.

    The Green Genie
    Alabaster Song
    Slow Burn(t Orange)
    Buddleia of Suburbia
    I've Been Waiting For Blue
    Under The Gold
    Never Let Me Brown
    Prisoner of Mauve

I had one for The Prettiest Star, where the colour brown was inserted between the words "prettiest" and "star", but I'm not sure it'll get through the castle gates.

    Love you bye. ((xxXxxXxxXxx))

  • Comment number 8.

    Starmandarin
    Gene Greenie
    Moonage Day Cream

  • Comment number 9.

I could only think of one...

    This Is Not Aquamarine

  • Comment number 10.

Im working entirely with the most popular Bowie songs as according to last.fm...but I wont stop til I figure one out for every song in the top 15! No matter how awful.

Ziggy Stardust = Ziggy StarRUST (
    Changes = Cha-ORANGEs
Space Oddity = Space ORANGEy (orange)
    Starman = Silvarman (silver)
Life on Mars = Life on MAROON :(
Suffragette City = SuffREDgette City (red)
Lets Dance = Zest dance (lemon)
Heroes = MarasHEROES (cherry colour? Like maraschino:0)
Rebel Rebel = Yellow Yellow :(
Ashes to Ashes = Heat rashes to heat rashes (the colour of burned skin!)
The man who sold the world = The man who GOLD the world
Modern love = Fern love (green like ferns!)
China girl = Rhino girl (the colour of rhinos)
Oh you pretty things = Oh blue pretty things (both blue and pretty)
Moonage Daydream = Moonage Daygreen (the colour of green)

In my defence...I was majorly distracted by battlestar galactica almost getting killed :(

  • Comment number 11.

I can only think of 3.

    I'm a Greyed of A Maroon-icons
Cyana Girl (how did nobody else do this already?)
    Blue King for Satellites
I Have Not Been To Ochre Town

speaking of which, i hope you've all seen the best colour survey ever:

    Huggles!

  • Comment number 17.

    @roboplege

It states in the "basic discoveries" that nobody can spell fuchsia, but our very own ADAM BUXTON can (see top of page)

The miscellaneous section near the end was sooo funny. My faves: gosh, that's blue and shark infested water.

    Thanks for that!

  • Comment number 18.

Oh, balls, I misread this and spent some time thinking up Beatles ones. I was quite pleased with my Revolter (for walls that are just going to get dirty anyway) and Scabby Road (rustic) as well.

Sorry also for resurrecting the ghost of Mark & Lard's 'Pigment or Figment' quiz, but it was completely different to this, and I would bet the bag of grapes I am currently eating that nobody but me remembers it anyway!

  • Comment number 19.

Um...... Sandy Warhol, The Bluelay Brothers, Black Tie White Gloss.

    Enough.

  • Comment number 20.

Another Bowie punfest - crafty ploy to assist in luring the Goblin King into a famous fun scenario I wonder..? *strokes chin*...

    Queen Pitch Black
    Blue Jean
    Blackout
    It Ain't Queasy
    Black Country Sock
Thin White Puke (Oh dear, that's a bit gross isn't it?)

    *Returns to election trivia*

  • Comment number 21.

    I'm liking:
    Foxy stoats Prisoner of Mauve
Shinno's This is not aquamarine (la la la la la)
    Harry Gout's Space Olive-y
    Razor 5000's Sandy Warhol

    Good work!

  • Comment number 22.

    Blues Keep Swinging!

*YES* I got excited when I thought of this but then I thought it was too obvious and a fellow blog squadie must have already said it... but no.

I'm gonna award myself a bowie snack for this.

  • Comment number 23.

    P.s John, I'm only decorating :)

  • Comment number 24.

... Would be a good slogan to use if you could somehow get Bowie in to advertise the paint franchise

Copyright me. No stealing my royalties plz.

  • Comment number 25.

How about one of those slightly shimmery paints called China Pearl ?

  • Comment number 26.

    Dear Count buckles,
Iam FURIOUS! IF YOUR GOING TO USE MY IDEA, I EXPECT TO GET SOME CREDIT AT LEAST!
Here is a comment I posted months ago.
    Still love you byeee!!

The MANDARIN that sold the world,
    UNDERCOAT pressure,
    When the wind BLUES

    Au revoir!

  • Comment number 35.

    @MJ Hey man/manette, here's a chillcake. Savour!

If you're thinking it was 'MaroonAge DayDream' pinched without a nod, it was actually 'Moonage Daycream' that wuz read out.

    Laven' the 'LAVEN'der ALIEN' though.

  • Comment number 36.

    @Radiator
I was actually referring to the whole Bowie paint concept but thanks for the chillcake dude, it was delicious.x

  • Comment number 37.

Ahh, I just assumed it was something Buckeroo had resurrected from God knows when, to get a larger response this time or something. So....I'm forced to agree you've been somewhat wronged! *Hands you bigger, tastier chill cake originally reserved for self, to ease the anguish*.

However, Mr Bux probably had one of those brain fit scenarios where you're convinced you've come up with something nicely creative purely on your own, then later it dawns on you...it's sadly just not the case at all.

I did that with Blu Ray. Easily done :)

  • Comment number 38.

Dr Buckles, Mark & Lard are definitely not going to beat you up no matter what paint-related features you do. I was listening to Marc Riley (aka Lard)'s very own 6music show the other week when the Big Mix Tape jingle came on and after it, he said: 'I think I'm going to have to start the Adam Buxton fanclub. But it probably already exists.'

So there you go. Forgot to say this earlier!
