Great show Adam. You played some of my favourite music as well - Everything in its right place; Boat of Car; Vangelis' Blade Runner Main Theme; Gossipo Perpetuo (Something I heard, as I recall, when you and Joe became 'sporting buddies').

I can't wait to hear more - it was an outstanding show.

I could tell the Buckmeister was anxious about venturing out of the garden shed after having his Cornballs removed, but he neednt have worried, right from Bob Dylans appearance to the hilarious Peter Gabriel interpretations (is the man going through a hollywood divorce or something??) it was comedy gold!!

I think one of your guests should be Joe Cornish.

Brigadier Buckaroo can bounce with the best of them. He was even bouncing off Liz Tarbuck recently on Radio 2 (sitting in for some highly overpaid bloke or other) - that must have been quite an experience.

The debut of the new show was conspicuously auspicious. Tunes were odder than a cat with no tail; I like that. And Julian was quietly hilarious; hiding in plain sight while naked is going in the 'must try that' notebook. Adam was hilarious too, natch, though not quite so quiet. And possibly, overall, hairier.

The Peter Gabriel segment was standout, and I'd like to see this concept taken further, with you crazy guys doing a similar covers project to his own; perhaps called 'Scratch My Sack'. I would pay handsomely to hear, e.g. Bono, giving it the full emote treatment to 'The Hours', and Annie Lennox earnestly warbling her heart out with 'All Night Garage'.

I only have to read the playlist to know that is going to sound Super-Xtreme-Amazeballs! Although I did initially get a bit confused reading the track listing when I saw "The Police Wuthering Heights" and thought "hmm - where did they get all these cover versions from? ... OH. RIGHT. I'll just go over here and facepalm for an hour or so."

Nice work Count Doctor Buckules. Julian Barratt's beard doesn't hold a candle to yours, by the way.

Really enjoyed the show, I was surprised at how many "odd" songs I already knew really well, but this only confirms the suspicions about myself. I thought Julian was a great guest, with some good stories, he seemed to really enjoy talking about his music choices, bring him back again.

Lovely! More mix tapes, more interesting guests. More beards. You must keep broadcasting - a 6Music filibuster. So long as Adam is on the air 6Music cannot be closed down. We will feed you toast and honey and send drinks made from the tears of 6Music listeners. But what is this? Adam also on Radio 2? Did you kidnap Jonathan Ross or is he under that new motorway bridge support on the M1? When Joe returns will you divide all the 91Èȱ¬ radio stations between you?

Wow - what a weekend! There was no doubt that the gig with Leeeeza would be brilliant, but I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed 'Oddens', being (ahem) the wrong side of 40 and a bit square. The Silver Apples - blimey - many people are called 'ahead of their time' but they were amazing. I've now been off to listen to the whole album and am addicted. Can't wait for the next big mix tape!

I only just got to catch up with Mix Tape 1 yesterday on the podcast! I’m a bit behind, missed the show and the week of iplayer!…but I really enjoyed it and I wanted to nudge you further in the direction of Scott Walker’s more wonky albums. In particular, I would recommend downloading the opening track from Tilt, ‘Farmer in the City.’ I heard this song about 8 years ago on Stuart Maconie’s old ‘Critical List’ show on R2 and taped it off the radio.

It is amazing. I have no idea what it is about, and yet it is still hugely moving and you feel like you’ve been through a profound experience having listened to it. Musically it’s very graceful and swoops from note to note in a beautiful orchestral way, it is one of those songs that gets right inside your chest, it’s an absolutely perfect, 10/10, heart-filling, tragic yet inspiring listen. Hmmm, no career for me as a music critic there but I hope you will check it out.

Looking forward to sitting down sometime this week with Mix Tape 2 on the iplayer.

I also caught the Radio 2 fun on Saturday on my headphones while doing my shopping and picking litter out of further Norfolk hedgerows!! Nice to know someone else does it too.

Just gotten around to listening to this, at work. Donnie Darko soundtrack has a great oddens type score.

Great show again! You can always rely on the Barratt to pick weird stuff, although strangely not as weird as I thought it would be!
Great choice with the Bladerunner soundtrack (an album that gets played to death in my house) beautiful stuff.
Good old Scott Walker too... has he done any solo stuff that isn't weird?
