THOM YORKE & ADAM AT LATITUDE

Post categories: ,Ìý,Ìý

Adam Buxton Adam Buxton | 17:23 UK time, Wednesday, 2 September 2009

Dear Bloglodytes,

First of all, thanks for all the messages we received for our first show back after the summer. Much appreciated as usual.

Second of all, apparently there's currently someone pretending to be me on Twitter. Just to be clear I am not part of any social networking sites. The only posting I do online is for this blog and on my own and apart from the odd thing for the 91Èȱ¬ comedy site, that's it so please don't give anyone else claiming to be me a look, unless they're doing a better job of being me than I am, which so far has not been the case in my humble opinion.

Thirdly and as promised, here is the video of the brief chat I had at Latitude with Thom Yorke about new stage names he might like to use. The person you can hear talking off camera is Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich who was filming. You have to listen quite hard but he reveals that 'Mr T' is what he calls Thom in the studio, though Thom points out that that's "On your good days". I very much hope that from now on 'T.Homme' will be the standard form of address for Thom in the studio.

Love Dr 'Real' Buckles

I think Thom Yorke might have had a few jazz cigarettes before this one!

Adam never ceases to amaze me with his ability to present really weak material in an entertaining way.

Having seen such a quality interview with a big rock star I don't really see how David Bowie can refuse your offer / begging / pleading for an interview. It could only help his career and give him some much needed publicity and exposure.

I haven't seen the fake Adam Buxton stuff on Twitter but gather that the person responsible is putting out some offensive material - quite apart from impersonating you this is disgusting behaviour.

Why anyone would want to target you (or Joe) in this way is beyond me. I find the two of you to be refreshingly decent chaps who have a unique blend of wit, intelligence, silliness and charm.

    I was thinking:
    Homophone -> Thomophone -> Thomophonic ->

    Thomophonic Spree!

whinger_assassin, Adam revels in his weak material overloaded with melodramatic emotional investment. I think he loves and hates all of his own material and likes to share it with the world in guise of stupidity, intensity and hints of genuine fragility. It's why we warm to him so.

I think I came across the twitter you're talking about and read some of the tweets and thought yeah that's clearly not Mr Buxton! If you had a twitter I feel most of it would be in capitals which is of course the international internet code for shouting :D

I came on here for this video yesterday and all I got was a yucky tic video! You're such a tic tease *chortle snort*

P.s I wish I could go to LIVEstock 2009, as it's on my birthday but unfortunately I live too far away. Boo *beeping* hoo!

Adam - is that a Lewis Recordings sticker on your notebook? Edan's beauty and the beat is a sublime album. I'll be listening to your show now in the hope that it is all unknown hip-hop although, given that its the bbc, Im prepared to be dissappointed.

Haha, the fake Adam has been kicked off Twitter. Good riddance! He wasn't remotely funny.

Love the video, Adam. Thomophobic is my personally favorite.

  • Comment number 8.

Err, my personal favorite, rather. Oopsy daisy.

    Thom-Thom? P-Thommmy?

I think someone in that video may have been sampling the recreational pharmaceuticals!

  • Comment number 10.

Oh that Dr.Buckles... hanging out, having a laugh with Thom Yorke! I am indeed jealous. Funny stuff, hope there's more video bits like this to come!

  • Comment number 11.

    I want the Ratatouille video!

  • Comment number 12.

Very happy you are back. Been listening to the old ones, which has prompted the unfortunate side affect that I now think I know you, almost that through hours and hours of shared company I've earned it.

    :)

someone has been in contact with a jamaican pharmacy and it ain't Adam

What is on your head Adam?
Looks suspiciously like amusingly shaped sunglasses.
    *shakes head in shame*
Hang on, didn't you wear those in the TV series?! BOL!

  • Comment number 15.

Personally I think Thombola is the best. It would be brilliant if he actually used one of them!

Is there any chance of putting Joe's massage music on the blog as a download?

    x, Natasha

    NICE.

I'd like to see/hear an interview of David Bowie, conducted by Boggins the dog. Please, Adam and Joe, make this real.

  • Comment number 17.

Hey Dr.Buckles... Where's the coming back from holiday blues song!? I love it and would love a copy of it!

  • Comment number 18.

I thought Adam said there would be more on the blog? Just seems like what was on the radio show and I wasted my time seeking this out to hear the same thing again!?!
