The fight for female suffrage
Women鈥檚 struggle for the right to vote
By the end of the 1800s, there was growing support for the campaign for women to have the right to vote. There were two main campaign groups, the Suffragettes and the Suffragists.
Why did women receive the vote?
By 1914, the Suffragettes and the Suffragists were both campaigning for women鈥檚 right to vote. In 1918, the British government finally passed a law allowing some women to vote.
