What is data?
Data means information. You can collect data by showing it in tables, charts or graphs.
It will make the information easier to read and understand.
It is important to read all the different parts of the table, chart or graph when you are working out what the information is telling you.

We join Janine who鈥檚 out on the course interviewing Pete the sneak!
Janine: Thanks Jeff, we need to collect some data about what鈥檚 going on鈥
Pete the sneak, what can you tell us?鈥
Pete: Well I鈥檝e lost 4 balls on this hole, but I鈥檓 certain Putter will lose more!
Jeff: Fighting talk from Pete the sneak. We鈥檇 better keep a tally!
Janine: First attempt for Putter!
Jeff: Ooh! He鈥檚 not getting that one back. 1 ball lost!
Janine: Second attempt!
Jeff: Oh dear, another ball lost!
Jeff: Oh my! That鈥檚 6 lost in a row!
Janine: At least he鈥檚 taking it well Jeff鈥
Jeff: Good job we recorded the scores.
