Jews believe in one God, who created the world. Jews believe that they have a special relationship with God because of covenants they have made with him, which began with God鈥檚 promise to Abraham.
Covenant and mitzvot - Eduqas
A covenant is an agreement. Jewish people believe they have a special responsibility to follow the mitzvot, which are God鈥檚 laws in the Torah, because of the covenants they have made with him.
Practices in Judaism
For Jews, practising their faith involves worship and prayer at home and in the synagogue. Being part of a community, celebrating festivals and rites of passage together is important within Judaism.
