We all need help from time to time. Mums, dads and other family members are great at helping us.

They can help us get dressed, make food, or bring us to school. Teachers are also great at helping us. Teachers help us learn new things and answer lots of questions.

Sometimes we need help if something has gone wrong. For example, a mechanic can help fix a car, and a plumber can help mend your pipes.

Lots of people have jobs that help keep people safe. Can you think of any 'helping鈥 jobs?

Who can help us cross the road?

A lollipop man or lollipop woman helps keep us safe when walking to or from school.

They hold a big sign that says "STOP" on one side and "SCHOOL" on the other.

When we are ready to cross the road, the lollipop person enters the road with their sign and stops the traffic.

Then they help us cross the road safely by making sure the cars have stopped, and it's safe to cross.

By stopping the traffic and helping us cross safely, they ensure that we can get to and from school without getting hurt.

So, it's important to always listen to and follow the lollipop person's instructions when crossing the road!

Who can help us when we feel sick?

Doctors and nurses can help us if we are sick or injured. They have special knowledge and skills to help determine what is wrong and how to improve it.

Doctors can examine us and give us medicine or treatment to help us get better. They can also order tests or X-rays if needed.

Nurses can help children feel more comfortable when they are in the hospital or clinic. They can take their temperature, give them medicine, or change their bandages.

They can also talk to children and their families to help them feel less scared or worried.

Doctors and nurses work together to help children and ensure they stay happy and healthy.

Who can help us if there is a fire?

Firefighters help us if there is a fire. They wear special clothing and have special tools to help prevent fires and keep us safe.

If there is a fire, firefighters arrive at the scene in their fire trucks and use big hoses to put out the flames.

They use water to put out the fire and ensure it doesn't spread to other buildings.

Firefighters also help us if people need to be rescued. For example, if someone were stuck up a tree, the fire brigade would come and help get them down safely.

Who can help us if we are in danger?

The police are here to keep us safe and help us. They make sure that the rules are being followed.

The police help direct traffic, stop people from speeding, or ensure everyone wears their seatbelt in the car.

The police also help in an emergency: If there is a car accident or someone is hurt, the police will come and help. They can call an ambulance or help people get to the hospital.

Also, the police catch criminals. If a person commits a crime, like stealing or hurting someone, the police will try to catch them and punish them appropriately.

This hopefully means they won't misbehave again.
