How does it work?
- The tongue is covered in lots of little bumps.
- These bumps have tiny taste buds that tell the taste of anything they touch.
- The tongue sends that information to the brain.
- The brain then works out what we are tasting!
There are five main tastes:
- sweet
- sour
- savoury
- salty
- bitter
