The opening
show, called Between The Two, is by exciting new graduate Graham Robinson.
He finished the Masters course at UCE in September 2004. His work
is a poignant reflection on his relationship to Birmingham, which
he now continues from his distant home in Cornwall.
Talking about working at Periscope, Graham also saw other parallels
in the project. He said: "What's exciting about working in Birmingham
is having the opportunities in new spaces like Periscope. It's good
because the team is taking risks with fresh artists. Periscope sits
between traditional galleries and non-funded spaces. It's run by a
professional group, with a huge amount of good will and energy to
make things happen. I admire the team's vision and drive in genuinely
wanting to raise the profile of the Birmingham arts scene."
Exhibition details
The show opening is 6-8pm on 26 November 2004. Anyone unable to make
