'Will' poses with a community police officer

Thursday 8 May 2008 marks Big Picture Day, and all images submitted to the online gallery at www.inthebigpicture.co.uk during that day will be entered into a special competition, with the winning Birmingham photograph being displayed on a huge billboard in the city in June.

The Big Picture team visited Victoria Square on Thursday 8 May with some rather famous faces. Visitors to the Big Picture roadshow between 11am – 3pm got a taste of how it feels to be in the limelight, by having their picture taken on the red carpet alongside a rather familiar looking David Beckham, Will Smith and Kylie.

The Big Picture is an exciting new arts project hoping to create the largest photo mosaic in the world from pictures of the West Midlands.

Project Manager, Kerry Endsor, said: "With just under two months to go, we are urging the people of the West Midlands to pull out all the stops and send in their photos to secure this World Record for the region.Ìý

"By sending in their pictures on Thursday 8 May, either by text, email or direct to our website, local residents will not only have the chance to become joint world-record holders, they may even see their winning photo being displayed loud and proud for the whole of Birmingham to enjoy!"
