Joni Ayn Alexander
Cardiff
Joni grew up in Oklahoma where she completed her bachelor's degree in journalism at the University of Oklahoma. After working at USA Today for three years, she came to Wales to study for her master's degree in international journalism at Cardiff University. The year abroad was funded through a Rotary International scholarship. As luck and love would have it, Joni never left Cardiff.
Joni has led third sector organisations, acting as director of both NUS Wales and Women Making a Difference. Prior to this, she worked with Media Wales and ITV, as well as teaching online journalism at the University of South Wales and City University. She is vice chair of Rhiwbeina Primary School's governing body and of UNA Exchange's board of trustees. She lives in Rhiwbina with her husband, son and daughter.
