Television Appeals

The Community Life programme is broadcast on 91Èȱ¬ Northern Ireland television. It profiles the work and support needs of a featured charity and also includes local community stories.

  • CAN

    CAN offers day care, respite breaks, and a wide range of well-being projects for adults and children. It also runs Lislagan Farm, an 11-acre site near Ballymoney which provides be-spoke learning, social and health-related activities.
  • Northern Ireland Blind Golf

    Northern Ireland Blind Golf offers training and support to visually impaired and blind people. As well as providing health benefits, golf is a social sport which can help people to connect with others and overcome loneliness and social isolation.
  • AWARE

    AWARE has two regional offices and a network of 23 support groups in rural and urban locations. Its work depends on the expertise, commitment and enthusiasm of its volunteers. The charity provides support to people with depression and bipolar disorder and their carers.
  • Women's Aid Armagh Down

    Women’s Aid seeks to promote healthy and non-abusive relationships. It provides a range of support services, including help with mental health/wellbeing, counselling and welfare advice, at centres in Newry, Armagh and Portadown.
  • SENAC

    An appeal from SENAC which advises families on educational support for children with learning difficulties; a report on the "Good Morning" charity keeping in telephone contact with elderly and isolated people; and we look at the work of the Belfast Tool Library which lends out tools and runs DIY classes.
  • Marie Curie

    An Appeal film about Marie Curie and its work to support end of life care. The Armagh Robinson Library on its plans for the future. Volunteering opportunities aboard the Sea Bird.
  • Action for Children

    Action for Children Northern Ireland provides practical and emotional care and support to children young people, their carers and parents. The charity has different volunteer opportunities, including as part of its fundraising activities.
  • The Red Cross

    The Red Cross provides a range of services and support to people at home and around the world. It’s currently looking for volunteers to assist different aspects of its work in Northern Ireland.
  • MS Society

    The MS Society has local groups offering services and support right across Northern Ireland.
  • Air Ambulance NI

    Air Ambulance Northern Ireland is a local charity that works in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service to provide a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for Northern Ireland. It provides urgent medical assistance across the region, operating seven days a week for 12 hours per day.
  • The Welcome Organisation

    The Welcome Organisation provides a range of potentially life-saving services for people affected by homelessness in Belfast. It offers ‘on the ground’ support for people who are sleeping rough on the streets and those who are affected by ‘hidden homelessness’.
