Pulmonary Fibrosis NI
Pulmonary Fibrosis is a chronic, life-limiting and progressive lung disease that afffects over 2000 people in Northern Ireland. Symptoms can include a chronic cough, severe breathlessness and fatigue. -
The Brain Injury Foundation
The Brain Injury Foundation supports people with different forms of acquired brain injuries, including strokes. It helps people to live their lives with as much independence as possible and offers a range of activity programmes, advice and support. -
The Playhouse
The Playhouse is a local community theatre which places a big emphasis on outreach, education and engagement. Its work includes performances, music, arts and dance-based activities. -
Northern Ireland Hospice
The Children’s Hospice provides specialist nursing care at home; supported short breaks in Horizon House; end-of life care and family and bereavement support; and an antenatal care service in partnership with the HSC. -
Assisi Animal Sanctuary
Assisi has been rescuing, looking after, and rehoming unwanted and stray companion animals for over 25 years. Each animal that comes into the sanctuary receives lots of care and attention - something that Assisi provides for as long as it takes to find them their ‘forever home’. -
Flourish NI
Flourish NI provides much-needed support for people affected by trafficking, including advice from case workers, therapeutic group activities and an all-important safe space for people to meet and share their experiences and concerns. -
Nexus NI
Nexus offers support to people affected by sexual abuse, including through its counselling service. Counselling is available to everyone, whatever their background both online and at various different locations across Northern Ireland. -
K9 Search and Rescue
K9 Search and Rescue is a volunteer-led canine rescue team based in Northern Ireland. The charity was founded in 2017 by Bangor man, Ryan Gray. Since then, K9 Search and Rescue has continued to grow, both in terms of volunteers and the number of dogs that have been trained in search techniques. -
Lighthouse
Lighthouse has been supporting individuals and families since 2003. The charity provides a crisis intervention service for people who may be having suicidal thoughts, or are dealing with a situation that’s affecting their ability to keep on top of things. Lighthouse also offers 1-2-1 and peer group support to people who have lost a loved one through suicide. -
Haemochromatosis UK
Haemochromatosis is an inherited condition which results in a build-up of iron levels in the body, often over a period of many years. It can lead to unpleasant symptoms such as fatigue, sore joints, weight loss and ‘brain fog’. Haemochromatosis can affect people of any age. -
Volunteer Now
Volunteer Now promotes and supports volunteering across Northern Ireland. It offers a diverse mix of volunteering opportunities. These include sport, heritage, the environment, community group activities etc. Volunteer Now also provides training, advice and support to help other organisations recruit and retain their volunteers. -
Friends of the Cancer Centre
Friends of the Cancer Centre provide care and support for people living with cancer and their families. Every year the charity invests over £1 million into local cancer services. This helps to pay for additional nursing and support staff, vital equipment and ground-breaking research. -
Simon Community Northern Ireland
The Simon Community Northern Ireland supports adults, young people and families who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless. This includes temporary emergency accommodation at locations across the region. As part of its Creating 91Èȱ¬s initiative the Simon Community is aiming to buy and manage 50 homes for people who find themselves in a long-term homeless situation. -
Southern Area Hospice
The Southern Area Hospice is located in Newry. It has 14 beds with en suite facilities. As well as providing end of life care, the Hospice offers patient respite, symptom management and rehabilitation services. -
Young Enterprise Northern Ireland
Young Enterprise runs activities that help young people to find out more about the world of work – in all of its different aspects. Its programmes provide an insight into finance, teamwork, creativity and decision-making. And some of the young people involved get the opportunity to run their own ‘real life’ student business. -
Praxis Care
Praxis Care operates in 18 towns and cities across Northern Ireland. The charity supports children and adults who have learning disabilities, mental health issues, autism and dementia. Praxis Care provides a range of services, including supported living accommodation, support for people in their own homes, day services and befriending activities. -
Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide
Papyrus works to prevent suicide involving young people under the age of 35. This a suicide prevention helpline, HOPELINEUK, which is staffed by specially trained suicide prevention advisers. HOPELINEUK is a free and confidential service and it can be contacted anonymously by phone, email or text.
