When New York Times reporter David Rohde married Cosmopolitan magazine's photography director, Kristen Mulvihill, he promised he would stop working in war zones.
But there was just one last interview he wanted to carry out first: with a Taliban commander in Afghanistan.
The interview was a set-up; David was taken hostage and kept in safe houses in Pakistan for seven months.
During that time, Kristen was living a surreal double life.
She was arranging photo shoots for underwear models and juggling regular meetings with the FBI and other government and security officials.
David and Kristen spoke to Outlook's Jo Fidgen and described each of their experiences of David's kidnapping.
