Glen in Jamaica emailed WHYS: The Governor is correct. He is simply ensuring that the donor does not back out of the deal once she is released. These women are criminals after all.

Scott a KALW listener emails WHYS: I can't believe my ears! The suggestion by Senator Ralph Anderson that we use prisoners as if they were crops to be harvested is simply outrageous. Does he think that a prisoner offered freedom for a kidney isn't under duress? With logic like that, how did the Senator pass the bar?

If the kidney doesn’t match, will she be required to donate it elsewhere? Banks, amsterdam

This is another plea bargain. I hope our Nigerian leaders will not borrow leaf in our corruption cases. From Aminu Mahmud - Nigeria.

This condition was not placed by the Governor, but volunteered by the sisters to obtain parole. If it were not a condition of parole, the premise for their early release is false.
I support the Governor.

Denis in Uganda on FB: The donor should decide. The condition for their release is inappropriate, it is unfair.

Muntari in Accra on FB: This is good news for the sisters, although I am sure she would do this with-out the court asking her to.

Sandy from Kansas emails: That one sister is willing to give an organ to here sister is NOT the issue, the issue is whether terms of incarceration should be dependent ( to any extent) on the willingness to save the state money by being an organ donor.

The western idea of modernisation is mecenary and disgusting and sometimes offensive. Pakistanis have the right to defend their religion. The blasphemy law runs paralel to anti terror laws addapted by many so called civilised world. Mustapha Kawoje. Nigeria.

Miss Scott may donate a kidney because it is a condition for her release from prison, but the lady will almost surely take someone to court in the very near future for infringement on her rights. (Anyii George, Kampala).

I think it is a straight forward issue. Every parole is conditional. This has all the ingredient of a compassionate pardon, only if the surgery is effected. The governor’ll look stupid if it doesn’t... Call me... Yakubu

We are on air, you can listen live here: - We''re talking about the decision to release two sisters from prison, on condition that one donates a kidney to the other. Is this a good idea? We''re also asking: is Pakistan''s modernisation a myth? As thousands there strike to support a law, which punishes blasphemy with the death penalty. Please post your comments here.
What would you give for parole?
