The gathering was part of an ongoing project to restore the building which suffered from a severely damaged roof and ruined walls and floor.

The young people of the unit decided to work to restore the headquarters as much as possible by themselves.听With help from David and their group leaders, they have been contacting local businesses and fundraising for the materials they needed.听

After clearing damaged parts of the building and tearing away the previous walls to leave a bare frame of a building ready to be restored, the volunteers spent the rest of the day on Saturday coating the walls in bitumen. This provided a waterproof coating before the work of rendering the outside and building new plastered interior walls can begin.

Cakes were on hand to feed the hungry workers and an enjoyable day was had by all!

Event organiser, David Morris said "It was an honour to work alongside these motivated young people, on a project that will not only be a benefit to them, but will also be used to shelter and motivate young adults for years to come".
