Lying in the Wye Valley of South East Wales, this 14 hectare reserve was designated an Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1981.

The semi-natural coppiced deciduous woodland has been managed using traditional techniques and the area has seen a flourishing of native British species.

Meadow plants such as the bluebell and yellow archange help attract many species of butterflies and moths.

Fallow deer and badgers are inhabitants of the woodland as are dormice which have benefited from a nesting scheme.
