Runners and spectators who took photographs of this year's Great North Run have until 31 December to help create a record-breaking art installation with Northumberland-based artist Julian Germain. Julian is hoping to collect 141,000 images of every aspect of the world's biggest half marathon and is already ready well on the way to his target. The pictures will become part of an exhibition 13.1 miles long - the same length as the run itself.听 Get involved
| Celebrity runners got involved too |
Julian has been working with children at several schools along the route of the Great North Run, who took over 20,000 photos to make their own particular sections of the final installation. But there is still time for other people to get involved. Any member of the public - whether runner or spectator, local or tourist, amateur or professional photographer - can send in their photos of the 2006 run. Photographs can be sent as printed copies or on disc (together with name and address) to: The Running Line PO Box 1162 Newcastle Upon Tyne NE99 4TS Digital images can also be emailed to therunningline@nova-international.com Submitted photos cannot be returned. "The Running Line" will be exhibited in Saltwell Park, Gateshead, in September and October 2007. |
