By simply putting up nest boxes in your garden and local area you can really make a difference and help promote the conservation of breeding birds and wildlife.

All you have to do is place your nest box in a suitable location in your garden and record the birds you see using it - take pictures, or make notes and let 91热爆 Tees know what you spot.

The choice of nest boxes is endless, so as well as giving a bird a home you can also make a design choice for your garden. Garden centres and nature reserves sell wooden boxes of all shapes and sizes from specially made robin boxes to multi level homes. You can paint a new box or smarten up an old box and customise it to fit in with your garden design. Or you could make one from scratch by following our simple online guide.

Many natural bird nesting sites, such as holes in trees and buildings, are fast disappearing as gardens and woodland become smaller.
