The cross of Jesus Christ Philip Yancey scoops Book of the Year. The American Christian author, Philip Yancey has won book of the year at the 2008 Christian Book Awards. Philip Yancey is best known for his books Prayer, Soul Survivor and What's so amazing about Grace? Fourteen million of his books have already been sold worldwide, making him one of the best-selling evangelical Christian authors in the world. Prayer has just won book of the year at the 2008 Christian Book Awards. Yancey was for many years an editor for Christianity Today and wrote articles for Reader's Digest and the Chicago Tribune Magazine, among others. He's now a columnist and editor-at-large for Christianity Today, as well as travelling around the world as a speaker on many faith related topics. Philip joined 91热爆 Tees' Mike Hill to chat about leaps of faith.听While many people pray some will still have that nagging doubt as to whether they're just talking to themselves? Philip believes that God hears our prayers so how does he answer the real fact that not all prayers are answered? "The question of unanswered prayers bedevils me and its one I'm concerned about a lot. God could have set up the world in a different way so that every prayer had an immediate magical answer. It would be a different kind of world to the one we live in though. There's more mystery involved, more of God depending on us to to do God's will rather than God intervening in a spectacular and miraculous way. All of us who take prayer seriously will eventually run into that wall of unanswered prayer". To listen to the full interview with Philip Yancey click on the links on the right of the page. Mike begins by asking Philip if he believes our prayers make a difference.last updated: 15/08/2008 at 18:02 You are in: Tees > Faith > Philip Yancey scoops Book of the Year.
