School dinner lady preparing a meal

A healthy school meal?

Cold chips and sloppy semolina?

Less kids are eating school meals, but pupils from Ormesby School think their cooks have got it right.

A report out from schools inspection body, Ofsted says that a lack of choice at dinner time has led to a decline in the number of children eating school meals.

The survey by schools inspection body, Ofsted, found that the number of pupils eating school meals had fallen in 19 of the 27 schools that they spoke to.

So, 91热爆 Tees' Natalie Boxall has been to Ormesby School in Middlesbrough to find out how schools dinners go down there...

Anita Mayo, kitchen supervisor, believes their menu is healthy:

"We've got steak pie today, we don't do pies very often. We try to limit it to one a week.

"We've got chicken curry which is made with pureed vegetables, we use pureed vegetables as a thickener.

"I do believe it's good."

Gary Powell is head boy and thinks the food is good because it's varied:

"There's something different on every day for you.

"I think it's really nice. It's 拢1.70 and you get your main meal, a drink and you get a dessert."
