Dominic Dunn was on the team commissioned to make the film that will be shown to the crowds at the start of tomorrow's Proms in the Park event in Middlesbrough:

When we were first called into a meeting regarding the 91热爆 Proms, I must admit I didn鈥檛 really know a great deal about the event. Yes, I had seen the last night from the Royal Albert Hall on occasion, but was never what you might call a fan.

That was until I got involved with producing this film. I mean, after a little research I realised just how big an event the Proms is, and for the Tees Valley to have been selected as a satellite location for the Proms, I feel it is just fantastic.

Middlesbrough Council and the University鈥檚 Vice Chancellor鈥檚 office originally commissioned the film. The aim was for it to celebrate the achievements of the area with comments from some well known people who are or have been connected to the region.

Travelling from the Tees Valley to as far down as Brighton, right the way up to Edinburgh gathering the memories and commendations of the region from many famous faces.

We then had to piece them together with footage which was shot across the Tees Valley to become the film you are about to see, was quite the adventure.

One particular memory was recording the Sunset looking over the Tees Valley. Being up there slowly watching the sun setting, really hit home to me what a beautiful part of the country we live in.

It鈥檚 been such an honour for me and my colleagues at the University to have been able to play a small part in the Proms proceedings, and we are incredibly grateful for the contributions from all involved in the film.

It鈥檚 events like this that really bring it all home just how much we have in the Tees Valley have to offer!
