Finally the wait was over as the boys hit the dance floor. First out were Tom & Camilla with a Cha Cha Cha to "Nowhere To Run". A confident performance that set the bar for the others. Bruno remarked that "you have the confidence of a tom cat claiming its new territory and I bet there's a few kittens purring".
Scores: Craig 6, Arlene 7, Len 8, Bruno 7. Total 28.
Phil & Flavia waltzed to "I Have Nothing". Arlene commented to Phil "you need to introduce your right foot to your left they need to fall in love because they never came together".
Scores: Craig 4, Arlene 5, Len 6, Bruno 5. Total 20.
Don & Lilia's Cha Cha Cha to "Let's Groove Tonight" received a hard time from the judges with timing issues at the heart of the criticism. "The brain and body at times was just disconnected" said Craig, but all agreed that it was a brave performance.
Scores: Craig 3, Arlene 5, Len 6, Bruno 5. Total 19.
Austin & Erin waltzed to "The Rainbow Connection" and the judges were genuinely surprised at the performance, Craig - "I am surprised - graceful, elegant, really clean lines. " Len summed up "The best first dance for a man I have ever seen".
Scores: Craig 7, Arlene 8, Len 9, Bruno 8. Total 32.
Next the "Tennessee Waltz" for Mark & Hayley. The judges were split but the general theme was that a bit of polish was required but plenty of potential. "Think gold medal, gold medal because there was no attitude...if you get that together I tell you you will be a dancer" summed up Arlene.
Scores: Craig 3, Arlene 6, Len 7, Bruno 6. Total 22.
Gary & Karen performed next with a Cha Cha Cha to "The Hippy Hippy Shake". A brave performance was rewarded by a critical mauling from Craig "I don't want to be vile, but..." and lot's of culinary comparisons from the others. "Sometimes you look like the mad chef in the Muppet show and Miss Piggy" said Bruno.
Scores: Craig 1, Arlene 5, Len 6, Bruno 5. Total 17.
John & Kristina's waltz to "Come Away With Me" charmed the judges, "it was so cute and cuddly it was like watching Winnie the Pooh and Tigger" remarked Bruno.

No "Mercy" required for the Cha Cha Cha performance from Andrew & Ola. The judges agreed there was plenty of potential, and commented that he was the best of any presenter from his show. "Compared to Fiona and Kate you're Fred Astaire" said Bruno.
Scores: Craig 4, Arlene 6, Len 7, Bruno 6. Total 23.
