At one point, the veteran reporter declares, "I've got to lose a stone this week… it shouldn't be hard with this dance!" Referring to his newly-acquired status as a sex symbol, as outlined in the Sunday newspapers, Kristina labels her partner the 'James Bond of the dance floor'. Like Bond, John spends more time shaking rather than stirring his hips in this session, as he walks through the moves over and over again.

With all the confidence of 007, John also jokingly claims that Kristina is holding him back from making any further progress. He remarks that the Samba is the perfect dance for him, because he can enjoy it as much as he wants to, "this is all going to be good fun… I love it!"
