To help with Mark's confidence, Torchwood actor and huge fan of the show, John Barrowman, came along to give him some acting lessons. A session filled with humour and enthusiasm followed, along with some testing moments for Mark and his confidence.

When Mark competes in a swimming race the most important part for him is starting it, and finishing it and as Mark said, "It doesn't matter how ugly you look in the middle." But this attitude can't be applied to dancing!! As an athlete Mark also tends to hide what he is feeling, but for this competition, John says "You've got to let them in."

There were lots of acting exercises for Mark to do. One such involved John saying a word at Mark, and Mark repeating it back at him. John then started to shout the words, and started pushing Mark and Mark reluctantly pushed back. However Mark soon overcame his lack of confidence and finally shoved John back, and shouted the word in his face! This was a major breakthrough and everyone applauded!!!!
