Jodie is determined to have some fun with her routine, the Samba, after having done a number of more serious dances in previous weeks. However, this doesn't mean she's going to get an easy ride from partner Ian. Far from it!
"Every other dance has been really serious - Rumba face, Paso face - but I'm trying to have some fun with this," admitted Jodie enthusiastically. "This is the first time where I can have some fun. I'm really enjoying it, trying to keep it contained."
Ian's appraisal was sobering: "I think it is going to be a challenge, she's not the most coordinated. We're doing well but I think there's a lot of work in store."
But as always between competitive, dedicated dance partners there was common ground and camaraderie to be found. "We're going to enjoy ourselves; a great fun dance with lots of entertainment and a little bit of your cheeky personality is coming out," Ian told Jodie. "You've oozed it out from somewhere!" she replied!
Rachel is also enjoying herself, drawing nostalgic comparisons between the lift and spin moves in her American Smooth routine and the classic moment at the end of 80s film classic Dirty Dancing.
"I have been looking forward to the lifts, hence the association with Dirty Dancing at end of film when she does that famous lift," she said. "Dirty Dancing was a film I used to watch over and over again as a kid, I still do! It's such a dream story that as a little girl that could happen - fall in love with a guy and the fact that she couldn't dance and then it becomes this ultimate love story."
Vincent, Rachel's very own Partick Swayze, has been keeping spirits up all week as they practice the dizzying moves. If all the hard work pays off, not even Len will be able to put this baby in the corner!
