Find out what's happening in Strictly Come Dancing 2009
News
Our four remaining couples have danced into week 12 and face the quarter final. And they've also had the added pressure of learning two different Ballroom and Latin dances. So who will 'Keep Dancing!' through to next week?
Austin and Erin were first to dance with an American Smooth to The Best Is Yet To Come by Michael Buble. Austin has waited all series to do the Smooth, but realised he needs more than his strength to get those lifts right, so he hopes training has helped him perfect those moves.
Len said: "I must say you did a great job, you mastered it beautifully... but one or two times you needed a little bit more 'Hollywood' to it."
Bruno thought: "it had a light and airy quality, you arms were better... you built up beautifully at end."
Craig said: "It was very smooth... a lot of control in the spins and turns, but a rather safe performance, it was good, but I was slightly bored in the first part, I'm used to your pizzazz, like Len said, it needed more at the end."
While Arlene added: "a tiny bit of advice, your hands and arms have improved but you mustn't let Erin outdance you. You played rugby for England and now you must come out and dance for England."
Score: Craig 8, Arlene 8, Len 9, Bruno 9. Total 34.
Up next were Lisa and Brendan dancing a Waltz to He Was Beautiful by Iris Williams. Lisa feels she got the support of viewers last week and has the semi finals in sights now.
Bruno thought: "Lisa, the ballroom dream continues, exquisitely beautiful, you were effective in its simplicity, it was stunning you made it fresh..."
Craig said: "Bruno's right, the genuineness of that dance was in its simplicity, it was beautiful, well done."
Arlene felt: "it was like every breathe you took matched the flow of the dance and footwork... so heartwarming, you could melt the snow in Scotland."
Len added: it was bit like Lisa Snowden, it was like the mountain in Wales, beautiful breath-taking."
Score: Craig 9, Arlene 10, Len 10, Bruno 10. Total 39.
Tom and Camilla then danced a Foxtrot to Here You Come Again by Dolly Parton. Tom is also grateful to the public he feels voted for him last week, and has been refreshed from the support of family and local friends.
Craig felt: "that has to be the best I've ever seen you dance. It was full of all the stuff our celeb men find difficult, swing and control..."
Arlene thought: "all you've got do is smile that smile, and you'll be dancing into that final."
Len said: "Tom, you're a beauty, you came out and knocked my socks off with that Foxtrot."
Bruno said: "...the golden couple, you aimed high and hit the spot, great technique, executed with incredible flair."
Score: Craig 9, Arlene 10, Len 10, Bruno 10. Total 39.
Finally, Rachel and Vincent completed the first round of dances, as they performed a Tango to Here Comes The Rain Again by The Eurythmics. The couple are hoping to nail this difficult dance, and Rachel realises it would be a dream get through to next week's semi final.
Arlene said: "this dance needs to be full of drama and emotion... and my goodness did you have it, it quite possibly is the most erotic Tango I've ever seen!"
Len thought: "...I loved the light and shade of it, then all that sharp Staccatos... and the musical interpretation... I wish I had (a score of) 11 - it was fantastic!"
Bruno said: "this is one of the rare times when the music, dance and the dancer is indistinguishable... it sent chills down my spine. Tango terrific!"
Craig felt: "I have to commend you on the choreography. But two things I spotted, your (Rachel's) displaced balance and your kick ball changes were slightly ahead."
Score: Craig 9, Arlene 10, Len 10, Bruno 10. Total 39.
Austin and Erin returned to the floor to dance a Salsa to Johnny's Mambo by Michael Lloyd. Austin could not put into words what it would be like to get through to the finals, but hoped his second dance would support them.
Len said: "typical sportsman attitude, you get knocked in your first dance and come back stronger more vibrant. I loved it!"
Bruno thought: "this performance will get you the pink pound... you really pushed the entertainment value, you sold it... you lost a bit of time in middle... but the drops were incredible."
Craig said: "I'm in similar postion to Bruno here. Very entertaining, but just a little awkward, with your hip action and the side to side stuff."
Arlene felt: "Craig is right the Salsa hip action wasn't there, my magnifying glass was out but it wasn't there. When your dancing with Erin your performance is electric, but when left on your own there's a little bit of timidity... Be fearless, you have it all, be fearless all the time!"
Score: Craig 8, Arlene 9, Len 10, Bruno 9. Total 36. Overall total 70.
Next up were Lisa and Brendan with a Jive to Crocodile Rock by Elton John. With the judges feeling Lisa is the most improved dancer this series, how will Lisa cope with her second dance?
Bruno said: "why did I worry? The Jive is the hardest for a tall person, but you did it!"
Craig added: "definitely a brave endeavour, you danced it to the best of your ability. I don't think it utterly suited you, but commend you..."
Arlene thought: "you tackle everything you do like Austin, like a rugby player. There is a difference with the knees being flexed and bent, and you lost your timing... but what an attempt!"
Finally Len said: "well I like the fact you acted out the dance with your expressions. I was worried about your legs..."
Score: Craig 8, Arlene 8, Len 8, Bruno 9. Total 33. Overall total 72.
Up for their second dance next were Tom and Camilla dancing a Rumba to You Needed Me by Boyzone. The judges were hoping that Tom would 'live it, feel it, breath it' - could he deliver?
Craig thought: I have to make an apology, there is a sign of improvement... I fell in love with it, well done."
Arlene declared: "there was lots of shape and line, but not a lot of content. Tom, it is the first time my heart beat faster as the true dancer you are came out in that... there was chemistry and love, I saw it."
Len felt: "the Rumba is a tough dance... but for me it was far too hectic, not enough fundamental... too hectic."
Bruno said: "I agree with Len, it is a hard dance to nail... but for me the balance wasn't right."
Score: Craig 9, Arlene 9, Len 8, Bruno 8. Total 34. Overall total 73.
Finally Rachel and Vincent returned for a Cha Cha to Signed Sealed Delivered by Stevie Wonder. With the judges feeling Rachel is a very technical performer, can she show them her emotional side?
Arlene said: "well we waited a long time, but that performance sparkled!"
Len felt "two fantastic dances, well done!"
Bruno said: "you are a great dancer!"
Craig added: "compact, tight, absolutely gorgeous!"
Score: Craig 9, Arlene 9, Len 9, Bruno 10. Total 37. Overall total 76.
