Oasis will headline at Weston Park

The V2009 Choices

Katie Perry as a huge boot? Or Lady Gaga biting heads off bats? V Festival is bringing huge artists right to your doorstep. Here Zoey gives you her opinions on the bands at the Weston Park weekender - and asks for your choices too!

It’s the time of year again when you’re all beginning to squeal at the thought of the up coming V festival.Ìý On the 22 and 23, August, thousands of music fans will descend onÌý the Staffordshire countryside.

What can you expect?

Headliners will be original indie superstars, Oasis and the Las Vegas lads, The Killers.

Biffy Clyro

Get your rock on to Biffy Clyro!

All you 80s lovers should be dusting off your sweat bands and leg warmers for Human League and The Proclaimers, whilst the new music fans can get their fill of the likes of VV Brown and The Noisettes.

For the in-betweeners, Biffy Clyro, Lily Allen, Keane, and more will be there for your entertainment. For the full list, click the link in the top right-hand corner of the page.

So, me, if I blag my ticket I will be definitely be jiving about to Lily Allen and Katy Perry (for the secret pop princess in me) and get my rock on to Biffy Clyro.

I’ll also be seeing some new bands, just so I can say I’ve seen them first!

The ones to watch

Ah, the bands - the main reason we endure the grittiness and lack of hygiene. Here is my rundown ...

• The Band With A Lot To Prove - The Noisettes.

The Noisettes

Noisettes: Don't Upset their rhythm, no.

I didn’t really like The Noisettes first single. It was overplayed. I was sick of hearing it and protested against dancing to it.

BUT... I first heard their latest single whilst I was tidying up and slowly losing the will to live: ‘Never Forget You’ perked me up no end. It was different. I’ll be watching their set at V Fest to see what else they offer.

• This Year's Car-Crash (following Amy last year) - Lady GaGa.

Lady GaGa is a strange one. From the obsession with teacups to the demands she made at Glastonbury, where she was asking for non smelly cheese on ice! I saw her on the Paul O’Grady Show and the whole interview was one-worded answers and her eating gummy worms.

If she doesn’t clash with someone I really want to see, I will go along to see if a crazy stunt is pulled. Maybe she will bite the head off a bat…

• The Chosen One - Katy Perry

Katy Perry

Katy Perry: Xmas tree or Merry-go-round?

As well as hearing what she sounds like live, I am also excited to see Katy Perry’s outfits. She’s previously been a Christmas tree and a merry-go-round, so I wonder what her festival attire will be? A giant polka-dot wellie maybe.

What bands are your festival choices? Whether you're going or not, tell us what you think of them - load them up on our messageboard below...

See you there anyway, where you may see me doing a Trigger Happy TV impression with one of the giant inflatable phones they’re giving away over the weekend!
