The institutions of religion and marriage are considered as amongst the most sacred in modern life. So it's good for pupils at Heathcote Primary School in Stoke-on-Trent's Alsagers Bank to be taught this.

Remembering Munich

A former Olympic weightlifter from Burton-on-Trent has been talking about his memories of the 1972 terrorist attack at the Munich Games.
Tony Ford was competing in the Olympics when 11 Israeli competitors were killed by Palestinian terrorists. The events are now the subject of a Steven Spielberg film.

Unity House / 'Faulty Towers'!

As the demolition of Unity House in Hanley continues, a short film has been made a in memory of the building known to some as "Faulty Towers".
Local fimmakers Michelle Martin and Chris Darwen produced their tribute to Unity House, which has dominated Stoke's skyline since it was built in 1973.

Sir Stanley Matthews Day

To celebrate Sir Stanley Matthews Day, people in Stoke-on-Trent have been wearing football shirts and making donations to the Sir Stanley Matthews Foundation.
Pupils at Grange Primary School in Meir have joined in with a specially commissioned mosiac that will be laid at the base of Sir Stanley's statue at the Britannia Stadium.

The goat that thinks it's a dog!

Billy the goat, who lives at the Swan Pit Animal Sanctuary in Gnosall, is having an identity crisis, because he thinks he's a dog. His owner Marc Palmer who runs the sanctuary rescued Billy from slaughter when he was just 2 days old.Ìý Billy started to learn from Marc's dog, and has been brought up acting like a dog ever since. He can fetch things, he shakes his hoof, he responds to his name and he chases his own tail.
