Olympic skeleton champion Lizzy Yarnold finished second on her return to racing on the World Cup circuit in Germany.

The 26-year-old Brit experienced dizziness while winning the season opener in the United States and missed the next event in Canada.

Yarnold, the overall defending champion, finished 0.04 seconds behind Russia's Maria Orlova, who won a first World Cup race at the Altenberg track.

Fellow Brits Rose McGrandle and Laura Deas finished eighth and 10th.

Yarnold said afterwards: "I'm pretty chuffed. I've raced here five times and never got on the podium. That was the aim and I finished on the podium."
