Manon Carpenter finished fourth in the second leg of the Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup at Fort William, Scotland, after a late crash.

The 22-year-old Welsh rider was pushing for victory on the tricky course on the slopes of Aonach Mor.

But Carpenter's heavy fall ensured fellow Briton Rachel Atherton won, with Tahnee Seagrave - another Brit - second and France's Emmeline Ragot third.

Defending champion Carpenter is third in the overall standings.

Atherton leads the series with five more rounds to go, the next being held in Leogang, Austria, on 13-14 June.
