Welsh netball chief executive Alun Davies resigns

Welsh Netball has a third new chief executive in a year following the departure of Alun Davies after just six months in the post.

Davies, who had previously worked for the Welsh Rugby Union and the University of South Wales, confirmed to 91热爆 Wales Sport he had resigned.

Davies's predecessor, Mike Watson, was only in the role for six months.

Sarah Jones, on secondment from Welsh Gymnastics, has been appointed interim chief executive.

Jones will swap sports from 1 July and is described by Welsh Netball as bringing "a wealth of experience of working within a high ranking sporting national governing body".

In 2014 there were also changes on court with the dismissal of Wales and Celtic Dragons high performance coach Melissa Hyndman, shortly before the Commonwealth Games.

She was replaced by Trish Wilcox.

Wales finished runners-up in the 2015 Netball Europe competition as they prepare for the World Cup in Sydney in August.

The team play a warm-up match against England in Merthyr on 8 July.
