Welsh cruiserweight Nathan Cleverly says his proposed bout with Tony Bellew would be a "genuine grudge match".

Cleverly, 27, faces Alejandro Emilio Valori at Liverpool's Echo Arena on Saturday, on the same bill as England's Bellew fights Julio Cesar Dos Santos.

Cleverly beat Bellew, 31, to retain his WBO light-heavyweight title in 2011, and they could meet again in November.

"This is a genuine grudge match... I'm looking to win emphatically," said Cleverly of the planned rematch.

Cleverly, who has won 27 of his 28 professional fights, moved up to the 200lb weight class after Sergey Kovalev beat him to take his WBO title in August 2013.

Bellew followed Cleverly into the division four months later after losing to Canada's Adonis Stevenson in Quebec City.

Ahead of his fight with Brazilian Dos Santos, the Liverpudlian said he "can't stand" Cleverly.

He added: "I'll smash his head in. As soon as that fight gets made, he's getting his head punched everywhere.

"I've got to get through Saturday first, then me and him are going to clash."

Cleverly believes the "rugged" Valori has "nothing to lose" when the duo meet this weekend.

He added: "I've just got to stay focused really, not look too far ahead and bit by bit break this guy up.

"My plan is to get the knockout victory.

"Bellew has got to do his part, do the business as well. Then you'll see fireworks."

Cleverly beat Bellew - victorious in 21 of his 24 fights - on points in 2011, but made an impressive debut at cruiserweight in May with a second-round stoppage of Shawn Corbin.
