Heather Watson wins Prague Open ITF title
Britain's Heather Watson capped a fine week at the Prague Open with victory over Slovakian world number 66 Anna Schmiedlova in the final.
Watson, ranked 112, won 7-6 (7-5) 6-0 to claim the title at the ITF event - a tier below the WTA tour.
The 21-year-old beat Hungary's world number 98 Timea Babos 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 in the semi-final earlier on Sunday, after rain had delayed play on Saturday.
Watson, from Guernsey, will return to the world's top 100 on Monday.
She now heads to the French Open, where she faces three rounds of qualifying to reach the main draw.
And the former world number 39 will be buoyed by her efforts in Prague, where she also beat world number 30 Klara Koukalova and 62nd-ranked Karolina Pliskova.
