Laura Massaro beats Nicol David to reach British Open final
England's Laura Massaro is into the British Open final after coming from match ball down to beat world number one and defending champion Nicol David.
Massaro, in her first tournament since taking a break from squash in February, overcame the Malaysian 5-11 9-11 11-9 12-10 11-8 to reach her third successive British Open final.
The 31-year-old will play French sixth seed Camille Serme in Hull on Sunday.
England's Nick Matthew lost 3-1 to Mohamed Elshorbagy in the men's event.
Matthew, seeking a fourth title, went down 11-7, 11-7, 5-11, 11-5 to the Bristol-based Egyptian in the last four. Elshorbagy plays Gregory Gaultier of France in Sunday's final.
Massaro took time out from the game after suffering from fatigue, and is feeling refreshed.
"I've got good mental freshness from the break. I always have belief when I play against Nicol.
"I wanted to live and die on my own sword. If I'm going down then I'm going down fighting, being positive and attacking. That ended up making the difference. It's huge to be in the British Open final."
